Exterior Overview
It’s hard to think of an SUV more versatile than a 100 series Land Cruiser. It’s luxurious where it matters the most, and can serve as a formidable daily driver, even well into the 21st century. It’s also an unstoppable force off the beaten path, with full time 4WD, a punchy V8 engine, and a robust body on frame construction. This 1999 VX Limited still feels modern as ever, and looks good too, finished in a one-off Magpie Black. Set off by OEM rainguards, a factory optional rear spoiler, A 2″ hitch receiver, LED tail lamps, and 16″ Icon wheels, its aesthetic is strictly business, and save for a few paint imperfections, chips, and dings, this lovable Landy puts most US market Toyotas to shame. Boasting 141k verified and documented miles, this UZJ100 is a diamond in the rough, and would make for a lovely daily driver, campsite companion, or trailhead terror! Regardless of what you use it for, one thing’s for certain, this Cruiser is a bonafide Japanese Classic!
Interior Overview
Toyota got nearly everything right with this truck, and the interior is a definite strong suit of the model. Fashioned in a premium gray cloth, the upholstery coddles all occupants and soft-touch materials were used throughout to give this Toyota a more upmarket feel. A woodgrain steering wheel classes up the cabin, and for safety conscious occupants, dual front SRS airbags are present. The driver can tilt the steering column at will to get comfortable, and a BOSS head unit was dropped in to keep the cabin supplied with US FM or Bluetooth tunes. Adjacent to the audio, factory automatic climate control can command temperatures in both front and rear zones, and cold A/C and hot heat are on tap. To keep your tushy warm, seat heaters are on hand up front. The remaining interior materials are in good nick, including the rear bench, which can flip forward to expand the cargo hold. The headliner is tight and tidy, and the door cards sport cloth inserts that match the factory upholstery beneath the covers. Power windows, locks, and power folding side mirrors work like a charm, and if you can see past some broken climate vents in the rear, and a cracked radio trim, this cabin is nearly perfect. We’ve even retained the full set of factory carpeted floor mats which look dang good and help protect your upholstery underneath!
Mechanical Overview
Under the skin, this Land Cruiser follows a recipe for 4×4 greatness that’s true to formula. The 2UZ-FE under the bonnet is refined, yet serves up gobs of power and torque for unmatched performance. Ours cranks over with haste, thanks to a newly installed US battery, and is fresh off a recent service here at the shop, where we started with an oil and filter service. A new engine air filter and fuel filter were also installed, and we dropped in a new set of spark plugs when we were replacing the valve cover gaskets. Linked to a smooth shifting automatic gearbox, this luxury cruiser is comfortable, quiet, and composed on pavement, even at higher speeds, and power is sent right to Toyota’s legendary fulltime 4×4 system. Complete with a center locking differential and low range, this Landy can go anywhere, and we bolstered the suspension with new shocks all the way around, as well as new swaybar links. We even performed the most expensive part of preventative maintenance, rebuilding the steering rack with new seals, and installing new inner and outer tie rods while we were in there. The ICON wheels are wrapped in brand new all terrain Falkens, and we aligned it on the rack here at the shop after the drivetrain maintenance to keep things tracking straight. This lovable Cruiser is fashioned in a desirable color combo with a bulletproof engine; what’s not to love?

CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K.
