Exterior Overview
Nissan’s S15 was the perfect send-off for the S-Chassis. Balanced, refined, and superbly stylish, models like this 1999 Spec R have a ton of staying power, and are highly desired amongst enthusiasts and collectors alike. Finished in Silky Snow Pearl (WK0), this Silvia is in above average shape, and is set off by an OEM aero front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper spats, and 17″ Bronze TE37 wheels. Sitting on KTS coilovers, this S15 assumes an eye-catching stance, and the 117k verified and documented miles on the clock indicate this one has been pampered over the years. Save for some paint swirls, and a few chips, the cosmetics show well overall, and this turn-key S15 is fresh off a recent service. The perfect mix of OEM-plus parts and dependable Japanese Classics service, there’s nearly no going wrong with this one-of-a-kind halo car!

Interior Overview
For an exterior that’s timeless and well designed, the interior certainly follows suit. It’s trimmed in durable materials, and a host of power options are available to make daily use simple, even in the 21st century. The seats are trimmed in a durable sport mesh, and the dash and headliner are fashioned in a matching anthracite finish. Dual SRS airbags are present up front, and the dash has resisted any cracks, distortion, or warping over the years. Tucked neatly in the center stack are functional automatic climate control, and touch screen Panasonic audio, which works like a charm. To modernize the experience, Bluetooth is functional, and cold A/C and hot heat are available to be pumped into the cabin on command. Power windows, locks, and mirrors are all operable, the latter of which electronically fold to help you squeeze into tighter parking spots. The rear bench drops down to allow access into the trunk, where the factory spare and tool kit reside. All in all, if we were to pick apart this cabin, we’d note some wear to the steering wheel, but that does little to take away its appeal. To help protect the history of this storied coupe, we’ve also held on to the owner’s manual, 25 years of service records, OEM carpet mats, and some highly desirable NISMO aluminum pedal covers.

Mechanical Overview
The SR20DET under the bonnet is a real champion, and there’s a reason why Nissan didn’t plan on changing the Silvia’s powerplant for its last iteration. It’s peppy, responsive, lightweight, and most importantly, easy to service and modify. Our trained technicians have given this Spec R a mechanical once-over before taking it on its maiden voyage here stateside, and an oil and filter service was performed. We also replaced the engine air filter and fuel filter for a bit of a tune up. With the maintenance performed, this SR jets up to highway speeds hastily, and a fresh transmission fluid flush helps the 6-speed fly through the tree with no hitches or grinds. Power is sent rearward, and KTS adjustable coilovers keep the chassis planted through sweeping backroad twists and turns. NISMO front tension arms improve the suspension, and with feather-weight power steering, this S15 steers and stops on command. Four Advan tires deliver grip, and we performed a fresh alignment here on the rack to keep this Silvia tracking dead straight!
