Stock #6355Toyota's 100 series Land Cruiser was a huge departure from the rugged and brash off-roaders that preceded it. At Japanese Classics we believe change is good, and models like this 1999 UZJ100 are a great example of why! Finished in a rare Steel Mist Grey (1C3) and set off by an optional rear wing and front bug deflector, LED tail lamps, and refinished WEDS Keeler wheels, this is the street cruiser of your dreams. The incredibly low 86k verified and documented miles on the clock only aid desirability. Save for a few light paint imperfections, this 100 series is no worse for the wear and should still turn plenty of heads out on the road or at your local Toyota truck meet. Comfortable, spacious, and a treat to own and maintain, this Land Cruiser is one heck of a Japanese Classic! Those familiar with stateside Cruisers should know this interior well, and the discerning enthusiast may point out some beneficial extras and upgrades that sweeten the deal even more! To start, the seats are upholstered in a soft and supple grey cloth. Durable and stylish, they've resisted the better part of 25 years on the road and an optional third row is handy if you need to lug around a few extra passengers. For those that don't, it easily stows to the side to create a larger cargo hold. Dual front SRS airbags are standard, and the center stack houses a factory touchscreen that integrates OEM audio and an easy to operate dual zone climate control system. Below the HVAC are controls for the active ride height function, all of which operate as advertised. Power windows and locks are fully functional and aid daily use, and the electric side mirrors feature a power folding function if you need to squeeze in a tight spot. The headliner is durable and free of any unwanted rips and stains, and a power moonroof is on hand to let in a view of the heavens above. The carpets are neat and tidy, and the optional woodgrain steering wheel is still in good nick. Save for some light bolster wear and a non operational antenna, it's hard to find anything to complain about insideIt goes without saying the 2UZ-FE under the bonnet is a storied beast on and off the pavement. Easy to acquire parts for, it was offered in our stateside trucks and has plenty of grunt to get out of its own way! Ours is fresh off an oil and filter service, and we installed a new 12v battery to ensure she cranks over the first time, every time. For a bit of a preemptive tune up, a new engine air filter and fuel filter were installed, and we threw on some new valve cover gaskets to ensure you won't leak any lubricant. New spark plugs were dropped in across the board, and with the maintenance performed this V8 cruiser has plenty of get up and go for its size. Reaching highway speeds is a quick affair, and an automatic gearbox throws power to the full time 4WD system with haste. A low range and center locker can be engaged for soupy or sandy driving conditions. We changed both front wheel bearings to get the drivetrain in compliance, and new bushings were installed in the rear upper and lower control arms to dial in the handling a tad. The ABS brakes engage rapidly when called upon, the steering is light and direct for a full-size SUV, and the active height controls are a fun party trick for when you need extra ground clearance. The WEDS wheels are wrapped in fresh Falken all-terrains and to really seal the deal, we gave this Cruiser a fresh alignment to boot!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
