Exterior Overview
The J90 Land Cruisers are as well rounded as they come. Soft riding, reliable, inexpensive to service, and able to tackle tough terrain, rigs like this 1999 are true Japanese Classics. It’s a handsome truck, too, finished in a one-off Banzai Black, and is adorned by 17″ Mickey Thompson alloys, an OEM optional grille, LED tail lamps, a Suntrex tow receiver, OEM rainguards, and chrome mirror caps and door handles. Save for some slight defects and a couple nonfunctional LED’s in the left tail light, the cosmetics offer little to complain about as a whole. Fresh off a recent service, this body on frame beast is offered with only 103k verified and documented miles on the clock. For those looking to daily drive this terrific Toyota, the same bulletproof 3.4L V6 spec’d in our stateside 4Runners is found under the hood of this model. Perfect as a pavement pounding kid hauler, cool campsite crawler, or wicked weekend playtoy, this Prado is a spacious and safe SUV for the ages!

Interior Overview
Entering the cabin is seamless and accessible, thanks to OEM keyless entry, and once inside the space is abundant. The pilot can find the ideal driving position thanks to a tilt-adjustable steering column. Visibility is fantastic and a factory field monitor is mounted atop the dash, displaying the outside conditions should you lose cell service. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and the driver benefits from an upgraded late model steering wheel and dual SRS airbags. Power folding mirrors, power locks, and power windows all work in typical Toyota fashion, making daily driving more enjoyable. An upgraded Pioneer touchscreen looks modern and pipes tunes through the cabin. It also includes Bluetooth integration for hands free use. Below sits the automatic climate control system, which can cycle piping hot heat or cool A/C through the cabin. The blue and gray upholstery is soft to the touch and durable. It lacks any major rips, stains or tears and the retro-cool pattern is mirrored in the door cards too. The headliner and carpets have resisted major abuse and aside from missing the front grab handles and a few pinholes on the center armrest cover, it’s hard to critique this cabin at all.

Mechanical Overview
Built to last, this robust platform can and will withstand tons of use and abuse. The same can be said for the 5VZ-FE engine, which is fresh off an oil and filter service. The 3.4L churns to life promptly care of a new 12v battery, and we have given it a proper tune up. New spark plugs, wires, and a new fuel filter keep the V6 running tip top, and one of our trained techs has addressed a few pesky oil leaks to give the quad cam mill a fresh start here in the states. New valve cover gaskets, half moon seals, and cam plugs were all replaced ensuring the oil level stays on full! The 5VZ is linked to a stout automatic gearbox that makes good use of its healthy powerband. Torque is fed to both axles through a Full-Time 4WD system. To put the power to the ground properly, we replaced both front CV axles with new ones. For off road escapades, a low range and locking center differential can be deployed to keep momentum moving forward. It accelerates nicely and slows down with confidence thanks to standard ABS brakes. The power steering is light but direct and the system benefits from new rack bushings. New front swaybar links and bushings were also installed prior to its state safety inspection. The black and silver alloys come wrapped in brand new 33″ Falken rubber. Freshly aligned, the new tires look mean and will provide tons of grip for tens of thousands of miles to come. Composed, capable, and cool this turn key truck can be yours today!
