Exterior Overview
We fell in love with the Toyota Progres last year, when the first legal examples were eligible for import. These quirky commuters share a platform with the Toyota Altezza and Lexus IS, making them formidable choices for reliable daily drivers and roadtrip commuters. This 1998 NC300 is also backed by the same 2JZ-GE as our USDM models, making parts and service a walk in the park. Set off by a factory optional lip kit, this classy sedan assumes a VIP aesthetic, thanks to three piece SSR Strahl alloys and aftermarket coilovers to close up any unnecessary wheel gap. Finished in Ebony Teal Pearl (6N9), the paintwork is in above average shape overall, save for some nicks and dings typical of most 25 year old vehicles. We also wanted to note a prior replacement of the trunk lid in Japan, which appears to have been done professionally. Best of all, the 79k miles on the odometer are verified and documented, so you can feel good about your purchase. One of Toyota’s best kept secrets not only for the brand but for the Japanese Classic market as a whole, this is a lovable Progres!

Interior Overview
The interior is trimmed in desirable black leather, which is a rare find as-is for the Japanese market. Even more uncommon, the cowhides are in excellent shape with no excessive bolster wear, rips or tears. Both driver and passenger benefit from power adjustable seating and additional comfort can be fine-tuned with a tilt and telescoping steering column. If safety is a top priority, you’re in luck, as this Progres is bolstered with dual SRS airbags up front and on the sides. Primed and ready for the 21st century, the obsolete factory pop up nav screen has been replaced with a wireless CarPlay headunit, which works in tandem with the factory audio. The sound quality is above average overall and a backup camera is also on hand. Adjacent to your tunes, dual-zone climate control works like a charm, piping out cold A/C and hot heat as needed. For a bit of luxury flair, all four windows unfurl automatically, and the locks and electric folding side mirrors work well to boot. The rear seat has ample room to fit a few passengers, and the trunk is surprisingly spacious in this compact sedan. The factory carpet mats are tidy and contrast the black leather upholstery nicely. Clean, comfortable, and cared for in a prior life, this Progres interior has the makings of a great daily driver.
