Exterior Overview
The Land Cruiser is the benchmark for those looking for a reliable, capable, and cool rig. This 1998 does everything well, and is powered by the identical V6 our domestic 4Runners utilize, so service is a snap. Offered with just 74k verified and documented miles on the clock, this 4×4 is fresh off a recent service and is barely broken in. Finished in a classic Dark Green Mica over Gray (6Q7), this eight-seater is set off by OEM rainguards, chrome mirror caps, chrome door handles, and WEDS Keeler alloys. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in good nick, and this classically styled SUV is quite handsome. Interior Overview
The cabin is spacious, nicely equipped, and in better shape than most Prados we come across. It’s clear from the condition that the old owner cared for this one overseas. Interior access is made seamless by function keyless entry, and the ride height allows passengers to slide into the cockpit with ease. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and houses dual SRS airbags. Faux wood trim brings an upscale feel to the surroundings. An optional OEM field monitor sits above the automatic climate controls, displaying information about the outside conditions to those within the cabin should you lose cell service. The heat and A/C work like a charm, making for comfortable use during the dog days of summer and these last cool mornings we have left. This example also includes an OEM rear seat cooling system for extra protection during those humid swelters. A tilt-adjustable steering column and optional lumbar support aid driver comfort on longer hauls, and power folding mirrors, power locks, and power windows all work in typical Toyota fashion, making daily use more enjoyable. If you prefer natural ventilation, a large power moonroof unfurls with the press of a button, and the rear quarter glass pops out to supplement the airflow. The blue cloth upholstery is soft to the touch and is in above-average shape. The middle row can slide forward to accommodate more cargo, and the rear jump seats fold up neatly into the D-pillar. The two-tone cloth lacks any major rips, stains, or tears and is mirrored in the door cards. The carpet and headliner have resisted major wear and tear, and overall, it’s hard to complain about the cabin. The audio functions well, and we have even included the OEM carpet mats to protect your investment.
Mechanical Overview
The body-on-frame platform is certainly a robust one and can withstand heaps of abuse. The same can be said for the engine, the 5VZ-FE. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 3.4L churns to life care of a new 12V battery. A new fuel filter was installed, and the quad cam engine feels healthy as a horse pulling strong to redline. It’s linked to a strong automatic gearbox, which shifts like a champion. The Full-Time 4WD system is simple and features a center locker and low range for your off-road escapades or the occasional snowstorm. This rig gets up to highway speeds with ease, and the long wheelbase distributes road imperfections as well as anything we sell! For state inspection purposes, we installed new front swaybar bushings. The ABS brakes feel confident when slowing down this workhorse, and the power steering is direct and on point. The gunmetal WEDS Keeler alloys are wrapped in brand-new 31″ Falken rolling stock.
