There is a saying that you never want to meet your heroes, as they often fall short of expectations. While that can be the case, it's certainly not true as it relates to the legendary R34 Skyline. Featuring 50/50 weight distribution for athletic handling, this 1998 is also pleasing aesthetically, and fast, too. This sedan even has room for five within the friendly confines of its well-optioned cabin. Finished in a fresh coat of Black Pearl (GV1), this sedan is set off by OEM rainguards, a stylish rear spoiler, an OEM optional front bumper, Altia side skirts, and an OEM optional Altia rear bumper. Aside from a trunk replacement in Japan, and a few light paint imperfections the body is in good shape and this one-owner GT-T is fresh off a recent service and turn key ready to roll. Having racked up a mere 67k verified and documented miles on the ticker, this baby is barely broken in and is highly desirable for those who are collectors of fine JDM automobiles. Reliable, fun, and striking to look at, this Japanese Classic is as good as it gets!

Feel free to unlock this R34 with its OEM keyless entry. Once inside the cabin, you'll note how much more modern it looks than its predecessor, the R33. The view of the road ahead is clear and unobstructed and the dashboard lacks any cracking or fading, and houses dual SRS airbags. Nighttime driving is aided by OEM adjustable Xenon headlamps, which is a rare option. The center stack includes controls for the digital automatic climate system and an Alpine audio upgrade. A/C and heat can be mixed through the cabin and the radio supplements the straight six soundtrack underneath the hood. The black and gray seats are in above-average shape and lack any major rips, stains, or tears, The headliner and door cards are in good nick and the carpets are protected by the OEM mats we have included in the purchase. Power windows, door locks, and mirrors all work like a charm and make daily use even more enjoyable. It even has a factory power sunroof that tilts up and retracts to let in a nice breeze. It's hard to find fault with the interior, truly and it appears cared for in a prior life overseas.

The R34 chassis impresses with its balance, predictability, and communication. The engine is a dandy, and this RB25DET is fresh off an oil and filter service. It cranks over promptly care of a new 12v battery and the inline-six idles with little to no vibration. A new engine air filter, fuel pump, and a new fuel filter optimize combustion and the NEO benefits from a new valve cover gaskets installed by one of our trained techs. The powerplant is linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. Rowing up and down the tree is a blast, and the notchy and direct feel is a welcome improvement over the R33. Power is fed to the rear wheels and acceleration is impressive. The ABS brakes slow this sedan down just as fast as it speeds up, and the power steering is nicely weighted and direct. The Skyline rests on brand-new Ksport coilovers. They reduce the fender gap and allow the R34 to corner flatly. The OEM wheels are wrapped in brand-new Falken tires at each corner. It goes right where you point it thanks to a new alignment, and the all-season tires will last for tens of thousands of miles to come and quell road noise nicely.
