Exterior Overview
In Japan and around the globe, the Skyline represents performance and style. This one-owner 40th anniversary edition is a special sports coupe, with its fire-breathing inline six turbocharged powerplant, balanced rear drive chassis, and manual gearbox. Finished in a classic Sonic Silver (KR4), this GTS25-t is set off by subtle OEM rainguards, a stylish rear spoiler, Series 2 front fascia, OEM rear spats, OEM side skirts, and bespoke 40th anniversary badging. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in good shape, and this coupe is fresh off a recent service, including a new timing belt and water pump. This Nissan would be a blast to daily drive with its 100k verified and documented miles, but would also be at home on the autocross course or at the local Cars and Coffee. Interior Overview
The R33 features a spacious cabin with a number of safety upgrades and electric amenities. Cabin access is seamless thanks to functional keyless entry. The driver can find the ideal driving position thanks to a tilt-adjustable steering column, and adjustable side bolsters keep you snug when carving through the twisties. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading, and dual SRS airbags keep everyone safe up front. Digital automatic climate control is standard, and the air conditioning and heat work like a charm. Power mirrors, electric locks, and electric windows all work, making daily use more enjoyable. The seats are upholstered in a blue textured cloth with 40th anniversary insignias. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears and are supportive on longer hauls. The door cards and carpet are in good shape, and the interior plastics are in above-average condition. An OEM moonroof lets in tons of natural light, making the cabin feel larger, but it no longer tilts and retracts. We also wanted to note that the power folding side mirror function has given up the ghost, the tachometer works intermittently, and while the head unit and audio system work, the display no longer operates. On the positive side, we have included the owners’ manuals and OEM carpets, which the new American owner will surely appreciate.
Mechanical Overview
This chassis features nearly 50/50 weight distribution, so the cornering is top tier. It also goes like a bat out of hell with its RB25DET powerplant. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 2.5L churns to life care of a new 12V battery. A new engine air filter and new fuel filter ensure proper power delivery, and the inline six is a naturally vibration-free engine. Best of all, a new timing belt and water pump job were performed by our trained technicians, which will last the new owner ten more years. A coolant flush and new thermostat were included with this service, too. The RB is linked to a manual gearbox that lacks any grinds or hitches. Torque is fed to the rear axle, as it should be. The Skyline hustles up to highway speeds with the best of them, and it also slows down quickly courtesy of new front brake pads and rotors. The suspension has been rehabbed extensively, too. New rear struts, front sway bar links, and new front caster arms were all installed while it was on the lift. The power steering is light yet communicative, and this Nissan goes right where you point it, thanks to a fresh alignment. Dialed in, this Skyline rides on Michelin tires that are knee deep in tread. Turn key and ready to rock, this reliable, fun, and unique ride is a top-notch performer and incredibly well-rounded!
