Stock #6016
Stock #6016Picabo Street, Shaun White, and Tonya Harding are prominent Snow Athletes but this Mitsubishi is the real legend! This 1998 GDi version is a stunner, and is finished in frosty Hamilton White and set off by a snazzy factory graphics, package, massive PIAA fogs set inside of the optional front bumper, a factory bashbar, OEM rainguards, and refinished tri-spoke OEM wheels shod with 31" Falkens. Aside from a few light dings and scuffs this rig is in good shape and boasts a mere 149k verified and documented miles on the clock. Fresh off a recent service, this Pajero would make for a tasty trail truck, a fun weekend getaway vehicle, or could be put to use as a year-round daily driver. Spacious, safe, and capable this 4WD beast is ultra cool, and doesn't break the bank. The cabin is spacious, and full of impressive power equipment. A healthy heaping of safety should also be noted, as this Pajero is one of the first to feature dual SRS airbags. The clean dashboard design promotes top tier outward visibility, lacks any cracking or fading and houses an off-road inspired factory Field Monitor. While many customers are after the GDi engine and exterior styling tweaks on post 1997 models, the interior also received a decent revision. For instance, the cluttered center stack was simplified thanks to a simple to use digital climate system. This allows the driver to better focus on the road ahead, and the system itself happily pumps out cold A/C and piping hot heat upon demand. Directly below is a Pioneer radio upgrade to supply a soundtrack to your road trip. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column and both front occupants have dedicated lumbar support controls integrated into the seatbacks. Power windows, door locks and electric mirrors all make daily use more enjoyable and work like a charm. The seats steal the show, and the textured, multicolored upholstery adds a beautiful contrast to the dour gray hues of the cabin. They lack any major rips stains or tears and supportive on longer drives. The middle row can fold forward and split fold if need be and the optional third row can be fully removed or stored on the D-pillar. The headliner and door cards are in good nick and its clear that this car was cared for in a prior life in Japan. That's not to say it is perfect as we did want to note some light carpet stains and that the power folding function of the side mirrors no longer operates. Still, at a quarter century old this truck is in better shape than US models half its age and we thing the next owner will be really impressed with the interior. How couldn't you be?Unlike later versions of the Pajero, this is a real body on frame SUV, not a unibody. That allows this Mitsubishi to handle abuse better and give it the off-road prowess the platform is known for. This V45 is powered by the 6G74 V6. Fresh off a recent oil and filter service the 3.5L springs to life care of a new 12v battery we installed in our shop. An engine air filter and new fuel filter keep unwanted contaminants out of the engine. Additionally, new accessory belts were installed to keep the electrics powered and one of our trained techs freshened up the powertrain by fixing a few pesky oil leaks. New valve cover gaskets and a new transmission pan gasket were replaced and we rehabbed the driveline front differential pinion seal. The automatic gearbox shifts properly and feeds power through Mitsubishi's patented Super Select 4WD system. The transfercase can be engaged at speeds up to 62mph and low range and a center locker are equipped for more serious trail crawling. The Pajero is peppy around town and effortlessly accelerates to highway speeds. To slow this rig down, the ABS brakes are grabby and grip is handled by four new 31" Falken all-terrain tires mounted at each corner. The suspension is compliant and predicable and covers up large and small road imperfections nicely, and this Pajero feels more modern than you'd expect when traveling on our stateside highways and byways! Whether it's to the slopes or the shops, this Snow Athlete has you covered!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
