Filling the brand's "sport sedan" segment as a compact, inline six alternative to the brand's more popular Y platform, the C35 Laurel saw plenty of success in the Japanese market although we never received it here stateside. Our 1998 Laurel is a fine example of this chassis and is finished in spark silver metallic (KL0) with "Medalist" accents. Sporting OEM rainguards, privacy tint and set off by a killer set of refinished factory alloys, this silver bullet has resisted any serious paint defects outside of your typical scratch and nick and the 48k miles on the chassis do a lot to testify to that. Comfortable, dependable, and a great bargain compared to other Japanese Classic sport sedans, this Laurel is it!

For a 25 year old cabin the interior feels surprisingly modern and is chock full of premium materials and power amenities to make daily driving a breeze. For starters, the grey cloth upholstery is soft and supple to the touch and the driver benefits from power adjustable seating and a tilt adjustable steering column to dial in the perfect piloting position. The dash is nicely integrated into the front of the cabin and features a sweeping design that's quite easy on the eyes. It's also resisted any serious UV distortion or wear and tear over the years and has a few hidey holes for your more personal belongings. Nestled in the center stack, digital automatic climate control is integrated into the OEM multi-AV and works like a charm with both cold A/C and hot heat on hand for those living in more seasonal climates. Factory audio is also fully operational and sound quality is crystal clear although FM functionality is limited here in the states. All four power windows slide up and down without hesitation, and the power locks and electric folding side mirrors do too. For your safety conscious occupants, dual SRS airbags are present up front, and the rear bench can squeeze in three additional occupants with ease. For originality's sake we retained the factory patterned floor mats and owner's manual set to protect your investment in this classic Laurel and the keyless entry still works like new!

Revered in enthusiast circles and easy to modify and service, the RB25DE under the bonnet is a great mate for this already balanced chassis. Ours is fresh off a recent service by one of our trained technicians which included a replacement of the tired old timing belt and water pump. We also took care of the rest of the serpentine belts while we were in there and performed a fresh oil and filter service to ensure you stay up to date on lubrication. A new fuel filter was dropped in to keep any contaminants out of your petrol and this RB25 runs right as rain with the maintenance performed. NEO variable valve timing does a lot to wake up this 2.5 and power is transferred swiftly to the rear wheels. While the drivetrain feels healthy overall we wanted to note minor seeps from the right rear axle and oil pressure switch. The suspension is comfortable and free of any unwanted squeaks or rattles and the brakes are strong and have plenty of life left in them if the ABS needs to bring this Laurel to a screeching halt. The OEM 16's are refinished in gloss black and wrapped in fresh Falken rubber. They not only look superb but are an ideal choice if you plan to daily drive this slab!
