Boasting legendary capability and a rugged determination, this 1998 Pajero is one of our favorite SUVs of the era. Finished in a new coat of Lunar Rock, this Mitsubishi is set off by new black 16" D-Window wheels, privacy tint, OEM rainguards, and and subtle privacy tint. Aside from a few light imperfections and a front bumper that was replaced in Japan, the body is in good shape and this lovable 4x4 is fresh off a recent service. Having clocked a mere 157k verified and documented miles, this sexy SUV is barely broken in. Practical, unique, and reliable, trucks like this are our forte, and this Japanese Classic is a damn good one!

The spacious cabin includes a bunch of power equipment and looks modern, too. Both driver and passenger have dual SRS airbags and digital automatic climate controls are close at hand. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and is logically laid out. This Pajero boasts the optional third-row seats, bringing the capacity of the cabin to seven. The third row can be easily removed or folded up against the d-pillar. The middle row tumbles forward to create a flat loading floor as well. The light gray textured upholstery is mirrored in the door cards and is in above-average condition. The durable cloth lacks any major rips, stains, or tears, The carpets have been protected by the OEM carpeted mats, which are included in the sale. The headliner looks good too, having escaped the past 25 years without sustaining major damage. To make daily driving more enjoyable, Pioneer audio supplements the V6 up front and power window locks and folding mirrors work like a charm. Even the owner's manuals and maintenance booklets are in the glovebox and overall it's clear this car was cared for and loved by its owner overseas.

Under the skin, this rig shares most everything with our Stateside Monteros, so keeping this vehicle on the road is easy for whoever buys this thing. The 3.5L V6 under the hood is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up with the twist of the key care of a new 12v battery. A new engine air filter and new fuel filter were installed as a preventative maintenance measure, and a new serpentine belt was installed to properly power the electronics. Power is fed through an automatic gearbox to the rear wheels, or all four, depending on the driver's preference. The SuperSelect 4WD can be utilized on the fly up to speeds of 62 MPH and for those who plan an off-road excursion, a locking center differential is on hand. The suspension offers loads of ground clearance and has been spruced up with new shocks at all four corners. These deliver a predictable ride and the ABS brakes feel confident when called upon to slow this behemoth down. New D-Window wheels shod with 33" Falkens mounted all around will deliver tens of thousands of miles of grip for a long while to come, while quieting down the road noise.
