Exterior Overview
The RZJ95 Land Cruiser is a hidden gem. This JDM SUV rides like a dream, looks stately, and is powered by the same reliable four-cylinder gasoline engine sold here Stateside under the hood of our Tacomas and 4Runners. This 1998 is an incredible value, offering a plush ride, plenty of room for eight, and a surefooted FullTime 4WD system. Finished in a lovely Bamboo Pearl (6T1), this rig is adorned with chrome mirror caps and door handles, an OEM bash bar, OEM rainguards, tinted factory sunroof visor, and silver 16″ aftermarket alloys. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in good shape, and this TX model is fresh off a recent service. Boasting only 75k verified and documented miles, this terrific Toyota is barely broken in. Beloved for its capability, low cost of ownership, and practicality, this 90 series Land Cruiser is a safe and affordable Japanese Classic that won’t let you down!

Interior Overview
The cabin is spacious, nicely equipped, and filled with premium materials. The dashboard features a simple design, and dual SRS airbags are afforded to those riding in the front two buckets. The dash lacks any cracking or fading, and a massive OEM field monitor is mounted front and center, displaying vital info about the outside conditions should you lose cell service. A Sony radio upgrade pipes tunes through the cabin and is effective at drowning out the kids if it’s required. Below, a simple to use automatic climate system can provide relief from the upcoming summer heat with functional air conditioning, and for winter, the factory rear seat heater option comes in handy to bolster the heating system. If you prefer more natural ventilation, a large moonroof power retracts, and the rear quarter glass pops outward to let in some air. Power folding mirrors, electric locks, and power windows all work flawlessly in typical Toyota fashion, making daily use more enjoyable. The headliner and door cards are in good shape, and the soft blue and gray upholstery lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The same material can be found in the door cards to tie everything together. The headliner is held taut to the roof, and the carpets have resisted major abuse over the years, and as a whole, it is hard to complain about the cockpit aside from a cracked center console lid and some scuffs on the headliner. Even the owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase!

Mechanical Overview
Under the skin is a rough and tumble body on frame truck. It can handle loads of abuse, and the same can be said for the resilient 3RZ-FE providing propulsion. This chain-driven 2.7L is fresh off a recent oil and filter service and churns to life with the twist of the key. A new engine air filter works to maximize fuel economy should be good for a while to come. A new 12V battery ensures you won’t be left stranded roadside without any juice, and we rehabbed a few pesky oil leaks on the four-cylinder while it was on the lift. One of our trained techs replaced the rear main seal and oil pump cover to keep the oil level remaining on full. A new distributor o-ring was also installed, and the 2.7L runs right as rain. It’s linked to a stout automatic gearbox that makes good use of the engine’s powerband. Torque is fed through both axles, and the seamless 4WD system has a center locker and low gearing that can be engaged when traveling off the beaten path. It also is a smooth highway cruiser, with its long wheelbase and couchlike ride. New steering rack bushings were installed for state inspection, as were new inner and outer tie rods. A fresh alignment keeps the brand new 31″ Falken lasting as long as possible, and this rig tracks straight as an arrow. The ABS brakes do a wonderful job of slowing down this terrific Toyota, and it would make for a decent daily driver that can perform over the pavement and get down and dirty with the best of them!
