This 100 Series Land Cruiser is the best of both worlds! Luxurious and spacious for family road trips, yet durable and diesel-powered for an unmatched prowess off the beaten path! Our 1998 HDJ101 is a fine example of the chassis and is finished in a one-off Hyper Black. Set off by a 2" lift, OEM rear spoiler, and chunky 35" all terrains this is a killer looking truck. While there's a few paint defects and a noted replacement front bumper from Japan, there's not much to turn your nose up at and OEM rainguards, privacy tint, and LED tail lamps do a lot to tie together the all business aesthetic. The 127k miles are barely broken in as far as these bulletproof Toyotas go and this one was clearly well cared for in a prior life. Handsome, reliable, and built to stand the test of time, this VX-Limited might just be our new favorite Japanese Classic SUV!

The 100 series features just about the most modern interior we carry in an SUV and with two rows of spacious seating, plenty of power amenities, and premium materials throughout, it's hard to say no. The factory upholstery has been obscured by some top-market seat covers which extend to the rears and show no discernible defects. The dash is in equally good nick, and dual SRS airbags are at hand for any safety conscious pilots or passengers. The center stack has plenty of useful amenities within arms reach, including an easy to operate digital automatic climate control system and adjacent Kenwood touch screen audio. The audio quality is above average in this luxury SUV and Bluetooth functionality is available to keep your tunes close by. All four power windows go up and down with ease and the power locks and electric folding side mirrors work too! Four additional cubbies have been installed in lieu of a moonroof, allowing for proper storage of the whole family's sunglasses. The rear bench can comfortably seat three additional passengers and has the option to tumble forward if extra cargo space is required in the rear. The headliner is tight and tidy and the carpets have resisted any major staining or wear. The factory owner's manual is still on hand and overall there's not much to complain about aside from some scuffs on the door cards.

Toyota's 1HD turbodiesel is a certified beast on and off the pavement, but this revised 24 valve FTE variant is as good as it gets! Ours is fresh off a comprehensive recent service by our trained technicians, and we went ahead and replaced both 12v batteries with new USDM units to ensure reliable ignition. From there, we performed an oil and filter service and installed a new valve cover gasket. These 4.2's are tanks and this one is no different, propelling this lifted brute up to highway speeds with ease. Shifts through the automatic gearbox are predictable and full time 4WD is in good working order. We refreshed the drivetrain with new upper and lower control arms in the rear and we took care of some tired rear swaybar links as well. The lifted suspension tackles whatever you throw at it and feels composed overall, even at highway speeds where these trucks tend to sway. The ABS brakes stop this truck on a dime and the 16" alloys are wrapped in fresh all-terrain rubber we installed here. The beefy tires not only look good, they're chock full of tread and sure to deliver tens of thousands of reliable grip, perfect for this unstoppable Toyota!
