Stock #6109It's hard to deny the appeal of Toyota's J95 Prado. With an 8 seat capacity, full time 4WD, and the same simple to service mechanicals seen in our stateside 4Runners, this turn-key 1998 Prado would make for a great daily driver or roadtrip warrior for the whole family. Finished in a stately Desert Dune Metallic (1A5), and set off by an integrated front brushguard, OEM rain visors, and a factory lollipop mirror, you'll stand out from plebeian stateside commuters as well. Sporting a nifty set of WEDS Keeler wheels wrapped in brand spanking new Falken all-terrains, this capable Cruiser has accumulated only 136k verified/documented miles over the years and has little to show for it apart from some expected light chips, dings, and minor spots of clear coat fade. A true dark horse in the realm of imported SUV's, and a killer contender on and off the beaten path, this VZJ95 is nothing less than a true Japanese Classic. Toyota knocked it out of the park with the interior design on this ute. Not only does it comfortably seat eight, but ample head and legroom are available for all, making this the perfect family road trip hauler. Better yet, this one was clearly cared for in a prior life as the textured cloth upholstery that spans the seating surfaces is free of nearly any and all unwanted rips, stains, or tears. The safety conscious are tended to as well, as the dash houses dual SRS airbags up front and ABS is standard. Power accessories are aplenty, and power windows, locks, and power folding mirrors work as advertised. Additionally, a factory field monitor rests atop the dash and the LCD still displays accurately. OEM audio is fully functional and sound quality is above average overall for a factory unit although we must note the power antenna has given up the ghost. Adjacent to your tunes, digital automatic climate control works like a charm, and Cold A/C and hot heat are at the ready for trips to all corners of the continent. The 3rd row can stow atop the D-pillars if you don't have a full squad in tow, and the middle bench also tumbles forward to maximize cargo capacity in the rear. The headliner is tidy, and your carpets have been protected by some stylish OEM mats as well. All in all it's really hard to scrutinize this interior aside from some minor wear to the touch points and nicks in the driver's door card. We even have the factory owner's manual and maintenance booklets on hand!Heralded by stateside 4Runner enthusiasts, the 5VZ-FE under the bonnet is the perfect counterpart for this chassis and full time 4WD is on hand to tackle just about any road condition. The peppy 3.4 V6 is fresh off an oil and filter service here at the shop and springs to life with a newly installed 12v battery. Typically an expensive and strenuous job, one of our master technicians replaced the timing belt and water pump, and a new thermostat was dropped in for good measure. We replaced the engine air filter and fuel filter to rid the 5VZ of any pesky contaminants and with the maintenance performed she feels healthy as a horse! The V6 delivers a significant grunt in the low end and the long wheelbase platform feels plenty composed at highway speeds as well. A center locking differential is on hand if you choose to traverse the beach or trails, and low range 4WD can assist if you become mired in the muck. The suspension is much easier to manage than the larger cruisers we sell, and we also replaced a right rear axle seal to ensure you don't lose a drop of necessary lubricant. The ABS brakes were reinforced with a new right rear drum and shoes and this J95 now stops on a dime. Further aiding grip, comfort, and style, we wrapped the WEDS in fresh Falken all terrains. Not only do they look superb on the aftermarket alloys, they'll be good for tens of thousands of miles to come. We even dialed it in on the alignment rack so the truck tracks straight as an arrow!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
