The Torneo SiR is far from your run-of-the-mill Honda. Underpinned by the brand's durable 2.0 "big block" and featuring the same ease of ownership and serviceability as stateside models, sport sedans like this 1998 Torneo are great options for daily drivers, weekend cruisers, or occasional parking lot showoffs. Finished in a fresh coat of Cayman White Pearl (NH-585P), the exterior dons OEM front and rear lips, side skirts, and an optional illuminated rear spoiler. Factory rainguards spruce up the look a bit and a set of 16" aftermarket alloys tie everything together nicely. Boasting an impressive 76k verified and documented miles, it's clear this one was well maintained over the years too and our trained technicians have given this CF4 a once-over and stamp of approval so you can enjoy this turn-key Honda from day one. Clean and reliable, and showing no major exterior defects outside of a few light paint imperfections, it should go without saying the Torneo is a bonafide Japanese Classic.

The interior is packed to the brim with amenities and holds up well for daily driving even in the modern age. The seats are trimmed in a patterned, durable cloth and have withstood any serious wear and tear over the years. Designed with safety in mind, the CF4 benefitted from larger pillars over its predecessor, and dual SRS airbags are present up front for some extra peace of mind for you and your passengers. The center stack is easy to navigate and frames both digital HVAC and OEM audio. The sound quality from the Bose system is decent although you won't hit any US FM stations, and both cold A/C and hot heat are on hand for those in more temperamental climates. Typically prone to ultraviolet cracking and distortion, the dash is tucked away nicely in the front of the cabin and has survived the past couple of decades on the road with no major issues. The rear bench can stuff in three additional passengers if needed, and the headliner and carpets beneath are surprisingly tidy. As a whole, this cabin really impresses. Sure the OEM toolkit is missing and there's some wear to the touch points but that does little to take away from its appeal, and we even included the factory floor mats to protect your carpet underneath!

Sharing its mechanicals with similar Prelude models offered here stateside, the F20B under the bonnet is a breeze to maintain and packs in plenty of ponies as well. Ours is fresh off an oil and filter service and also springs to life care of a new 12v battery. We installed a new engine air filter and replaced a leaky old valve cover gasket, and this F series now runs right as rain. Shifts through the automatic are smooth and throw power forward with no issue thanks to a new front right CV axle, and a pseudo-sequential manual mode is present for drivers who prefer to command their own gear changes through the 4-speed box. The suspension is more than compliant over larger road imperfections, and we replaced the brakes with new pads all the way around and new rotors up front so you'll be able to stop confidently. Electronic power steering allows you to adjust sensitivity on the fly and is easy to articulate, and we wrapped the wheels in fresh Falken rubber to ensure you won't come up short on grip anytime soon! A sublime FWD chassis for sure, this little commuter really gets your pulse rate up when driven the right way, but is also civil enough for the daily commute!
