Stock #5937Long before Toyota's 2nd generation Aristo made its legal-for-import debut stateside, it was already making waves in the US market as the Lexus GS300. Known for its longevity, durable build quality, and timeless design, these steadfast sedans can still be seen plodding around our highways and byways today. So why buy this Japanese market S160? For one, the 96k miles on the clock are verified and documented, the White Pearl (051) exterior is in great shape for a 1997, and the mechanicals under the hood are as simple and easy to service as what we received here in the states. The visual aesthetic is accented by LED head and tail lamps, a factory rear spoiler, "Vertex Edition" badging and OEM rainguards. Save for a couple cosmetic blemishes in the paint, this one has held up well over the years. Comfortable, reliable, and recognizable across the globe, it's no wonder why we call the Aristo a great deal and a true Japanese Classic.Like the exterior, the interior is luxurious and features a full slate of premium materials and power amenities. Trimmed in a plush and durable sport cloth, the factory seats assume a terry-like finish and have withstood the past couple of decades of use without any major rips, tears or other battle scars to note. Both driver and passenger benefit from power adjustable seating, and the driver gains some additional lumbar adjustment and a power tilt steering column to boot. While the mechanism works well we must note it has lost its telescoping ability over the years. The dash is finished in a complementary black vinyl and lacks any of the typical UV damage and distortion typically seen on materials of this vintage. Positioned in the center stack is Toyota's innovative EMV touch screen system, which seamlessly integrates dual zone automatic climate control and audio controls into one easy to use unit. All four windows are automatic, and the power locks and power folding mirrors function as advertised. Additionally, you can open the power moonroof if you need to take in a bit of summer air. Rear passengers ride in luxury, and the back seat offers ample head and leg room and a dedicated set of climate vents that can pump out cold A/C or hot heat at a moments notice. Overall, the condition of this cockpit is above average. It's a nice place to be for whoever's lucky enough to drive or ride in this fabulous Aristo, and we've even retained the factory spare and toolkit to preserve this one's originality!Under the hood, Toyota's fabulous 2JZ-GE is a great pairing for this chassis and has a reputation that precedes itself. Ours is fresh off a recent service by our trained technicians and is in good mechanical condition for turn key driving. Including an oil and filter service this Aristo cranks to life care of a new 12v battery. To complete a minor tune up on the 2JZ, we replaced the engine air filter, fuel filter, and installed new spark plugs across the board. With the maintenance performed, its the perfect candidate for daily driving and shoots right up to highway speeds without issue. The 3.0 I6 is punchy and feels good in all driving conditions, and the tiptronic transmission does a swell job at shifting up and down the gears as well. New shocks on all four corners deliver a comfortable ride atop any road conditions, and the brakes clamp down hard if needed thanks to new pads and rotors up front. The power steering is light and easy to maneuver, and we've wrapped the factory alloys in fresh Falken rubber, sure to deliver plenty of grip in all conditions and keep road noise down in this comfortable luxury saloon!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
