Stock #6341
Stock# 6341The Hilux Surf is a doggedly determined rig. Its gutty turbodiesel engine and capable 4WD system make for the perfect year-round rig, and the nicely appointed cabin has room for family and friends. This intercooled 1997 is a darn good example, and is fresh off a recent service, having logged only 147k verified and documented miles. Finished in a fresh coat of Bermuda Black, this rig is set off by an OEM optional rear spoiler, scooped sport hood, OEM spare tire swingarm, and 16" refinished OEM alloys. Aside from few light imperfections, the body is in good shape, and the same can be said for the spacious interior. Powerful, efficient, and reliable, this Japanese Classic would make for a perfect daily driver, fun family hauler, or wicked weekend overlanding warrior. The cabin is in good shape and was cared for overseas. The dashboard lacks any common distortion afflicting these models, and dual SRS airbags are standard. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and adjustable lumbar support. Power windows, door locks, and mirrors all function and make daily use more enjoyable. The automatic climate control system is simple to operate and doles out cold A/C and piping hot heat upon request. If natural ventilation is your preference a power moonroof slides back and tilts and rear hatch glass can be rolled down, too. The dark charcoal confetti-style seats are in good nick. Aside from a minor hole in the passenger side seat bottom, they lack any other major rips, stains, or tears. The door cards are in above-average condition and match the upholstery. A USDM Bluetooth-equipped BOSS audio upgrade supplies to tunes and an OEM Field Monitor can relay info about the outside conditions if you happen to lose cell service. Aside from some light staining on the carpets and headliner and a nonfunctional power folding function on the driver mirror, there is little to complain about. On the positive side, the owner's manual and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase of this superb Surf. Powered by one of Toyota's most legendary diesels, this Surf is frugal and fast. The intercooled 1KZ-TE churns to life care of a new 12v battery and a new fuel filter works to keep unwanted contaminants out of the engine. One of our trained techs installed a new aluminum radiator to keep thermal management in check. The 1KZ is linked to a stout automatic gearbox. It makes good use of the broad torque profile, and new shifter bushings were taken care of while it was on the lift. For top-tier fuel economy, 2WD is best and 4WD can be engaged on the fly through the selective transfer case. For low grip scenarios, a center locker and low range can be deployed. The suspension is predictable and smooth and just received a complete overhaul. New KYB rear shocks, new rear upper and lower control arms, and a fresh alignment have done this truck wonders. A new brake booster ensures the ABS brakes are quick to react, and new pads and rotors sit on the front axle. New 31" Falken tires are mounted and balanced at each corner. Not only will they last for tens of thousands of miles to come, but they do a great job at quelling road noise, and look killer.
