STOCK #5959It's incredible to think the Mitsubishi Pajero has been produced for over four decades. During that time the model has cemented a reputation for everlasting build quality, off-road capability, and low cost of ownership. This 1997 adds a healthy heap of performance from the revised, direct-injected V6 power plant. Finished in Summit White over Hamilton Gray (W09/A62) this lovable ute is set off by a factory bashguard, OEM rainguards, and a set of gunmetal refinished factory 16" wheels. A right front fender was replaced at some point over in Japan, and aside from a few dings, chips, and scratches the paint is in fair shape overall. Fresh off a recent service, this spacious and safe SUV is offered with a mere 132k verified and documented miles on the ticker. Great for a weekend escape, but trusty enough to be driven year-round, this Japanese Classic is an affordable and fun option for your next 4WD vehicle! The cabin is in above-average shape and was cared for in a prior life overseas. Unlike earlier versions of this platform, this one comes with standard dual front SRS airbags for some added peace of mind. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading, and a central Field Monitor relays information about the outside conditions to those up front. Directly below is a functional OEM audio system to pump in the tunes. For those who plan to drive, power windows, locks, and mirrors are on hand and work properly aside from the power folding function on the driver's side mirror. Additionally, a tilt adjustable steering column allows drivers of all sizes to find the best seating position. Speaking of which, the upholstery is in above average shape and is soft to the touch, The tan textured cloth is fairly durable and lacks many major rips, stains, or tears, too. The highly desirable third-row option was ticked from the factory and can fit two additional passengers if you're in a pinch! The headliner, door cards, and carpets have withstood the past quarter century without sustaining major abuse, and aside from some light leather wear on the soft-touch surfaces, it's really hard to complain about this Pajero. The sturdy body-on-frame platform is known to take a licking and keep on ticking. Built on the same chassis as our US Mitsubishi Moteros finding parts and service is a snap. Powering this hauler is a GDI version of the brand's V6. The 6G74 is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns over with a twist of the key, care of a new 12v battery we installed here in the shop. To optimize power and efficiency a new engine air filter, new spark plugs, and new fuel filter were taken care of, too. We didn't stop there, as we went on to perform the most expensive preventative maintenance item on the Pajero. One of our trained techs replaced the timing belt and the water pump to give the six-cylinder a new lease on life. A new valve cover gasket was done too, so that the 3.5L stays topped up on oil, and the next owner can rest assured if an immediate road trip is in order. Speaking of which, the long wheelbase is ideal for high-speed interstate cruising and this Pajero makes plenty of power to merge safely onto the freeway. New rear shocks improve the ride and standard ABS brakes allow this heavyweight to slow down in a hurry! The steering is light, yet on point, and the grip is handled by new 31" Falken all-terrain tires mounted and balanced at all four corners. We even performed a fresh alignment to prolong the tire life as long as possible, and boy does this little Mitsu drive well!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
