Affordable, reliable and practical, this Japanese Classic is a true workhorse, and is determined to get the job done!

Exterior Overview

The quad cab light-duty pickup was a splash globally, but we in the States didn’t have many options in the mid-90s. In Japan, the Nissan Datsun Pickup was a strong seller, combining top-tier capability with passenger comfort. This 1997 is a wonderful little hauler, and is fresh off a recent service here in our shop. Offered with a mere 119k verified and documented miles, this mighty pick up is turn key ready to roll! Sporting a classic Blue over Dark Purple (1T1) two-tone, this rig is set off by aggressive 17″ WEDS Keeler alloys, a set of aftermarket crossbars, and OEM rainguards. Aside from a few light dings, chips and scuffs the body is in good shape and this lovable Nissan would make for a wonderful daily driver, cool beach truck, or unique company carrier. Affordable, reliable and practical, this Japanese Classic is a true workhorse, and is determined to get the job done!

Interior Overview

Inside the spacious cabin, the well-cared-for interior is in great condition. The gray upholstered seats are soft to the touch and lack any major rips or stains along with the carpet and headliner. The dash is in good shape as well, lacking any cracks or major UV damage. OEM floor mats are included in the sale, which are hard to find. The automatic climate control blasts cold A/C or hot heat maintaining the cabin at a comfortable temperature for all passengers. To make daily driving more enjoyable power folding mirrors, electric locks, and power windows are on standby and work like a charm. The USDM Bluetooth headunit upgrade features Andriod Auto and Apple Carplay. For added safety, the leather steering wheel comes factory-equipped with a SRS airbag system. Understandably, for those living in colder temperatures than others, it sucks to be out in the cold scraping ice off the wipers. Luckily this truck comes equipped with windshield wiper defrosters which prevent your wipers from freezing and gets rid of any ice that may have accumulated on them. The door cards, carpets and headliner are in fine shape and have resited major abuse over the years. This truck is sure to keep a smile on the next owner’s face as it provides a comfortable and spacious ride for four passengers and plenty of useful utility for those weekend DIY projects.

Mechanical Overview

This Nissan is powered by the bulletproof KA24E engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine has a proven track record and parts are easy to source.  The 2.4L is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns to life with the twist of the key. A new engine air filter will return top-tier performance. One of our trained techs has replaced the timing guides within the KA and replaced the old distributor with a new one. The KA runs like a top and feeds power through a five-speed manual gearbox. The transmission makes this rig more fun to drive and delivers a lever of control absent from the automatics. A selectable transfer case has 4WD settings for high and low gearing. The little Nissan is peppy about town and can hang with the big boys on the highway without feeling taxed. The suspension is predictable and the ride is much better than our average pickup. Thanks to new KYB shocks at all corners, this D22 can handle the rigors of daily use without an issue. The ABS brakes are content and the power steering is on point and direct. The 17″ WEDS Keelers look aggressive and are wrapped in new all-terrain Falken tires. Freshly aligned, the new rubber will provide plenty of grip and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come and reduce road noise a touch, too.
