This Nissan Cedric is everything you'd expect out of a killer daily sedan, and this 1997 Gran Turismo has a lot going for it! These Y33's make for phenomenal daily drivers, are easy to service, and are quite easy on the eyes when modified. A clean example of the chassis, this CedGlo drives like a dream and is finsihed in a clean Pearl White (QT1) exterior. Polished off with OEM rainguards, R34 wheels, and aftermarket coilovers, this Y33 assumes a clean, flush fitment and is primed and ready rock! Comfortable, reliable, and fun to drive, this Cedric is nothing less than a true Japanese Classic.
Following the spirit of the exterior, the interior is equally as clean, and ergonomically designed to boot! As we trudge through the dog days of summer, the digital automatic climate control unit is easy to navigate and is ready to pump out cold A/C at a moment's notice. Positioned directly below, upgraded Eclipse audio sounds decent for its age and a US compliant unit is an easy swap should you choose to replace it. The cabin is well bolstered with premium materials, providing for some nice sound deadening for your drive. The seats are upholstered in a clean grey cloth and have resisted any serious wear and tear over the years, and the soft-touch dash has held up well to boot! The driver can tilt the steering column at will for some added comfort behind the wheel, and dual front and side SRS airbags are a godsend for any safety conscious passengers. Power windows, power folding mirrors, and power locks work as advertised to make daily driving a snap, and the rear bench offers plenty of additional room should you need to pile in a whole squad. The trunk is impressively deep, and we've included the original owner's manual as further evidence this one was well cared for in a prior life!
Under the bonnet, Nissan's VQ25DE is a reliable unit, sharing a host of parts with readily available USDM models that make parts acquisition and servicing a cakewalk! Ours is fresh off a recent service in our shop and one of our trained technicians has performed the mechanical work needed to get this one ready for the road ahead. She cranks over swiftly, care of a new 12v battery and we installed a new alternator to make sure it stays properly charged. A fresh oil and filter service keeps maintenance up to date, and we've replaced both valve cover gaskets up top to ensure you don't lose a drop of necessary lubricant. Common on older VQ's the rear main seal and oil pan seal needed servicing, and we threw a set of fresh spark plugs in for good measure. With the maintenance performed this one is perfectly primed for spurts around town or longer highway commutes and doesn't feel starved for power one bit, despite its economical displacement. It pulls hard as a horse to redline and while the mileage in unknown/unverified, it certainly has loads of life left in it. The coilover suspension handles predictably over road imperfections, and we've replaced both inner and outer tie rods and the front caster arms to get the drivetrain in compliance. We also tended to a leaking steering rack, rebuilding the unit with new seals to get this daily driver up to spec. The ABS brakes bite hard when an abrupt stop is required, and new all season rubber on all four corners further assists stopping power and grip, with a fresh alignment ensuring you'll be safely adhered to the pavement for tens of thousands of miles to come!
