The 90 Series Prado is a killer buy right now. It offers the refinement of a modern SUV, above-average offroad prowess, legendary Toyota reliability, all at an affordable price point! This 1997 is a stellar truck, with room for eight and plenty of features and amenities to boot. Finished in Desert Dune over Gray Metallic (K03), the paint is in good nick aside from the typical chips, scuffs, and dings associated with normal use. The flowing lines are accentuated by an OEM brushguard and a set of factory rainguards and this rig has a confident but understated aesthetic. Fresh off a recent service, this trusty Prado is offered with a mere 132k verified and documented miles. For those looking for an SUV that is capable, efficient, and fun to drive this Land Cruiser is definitely the ticket! As a daily driver, weekend warrior, or family hauler this TX is a certified Japanese Classic and won't last long.

The cabin is in good shape overall and was cared for half a world away. The view of the road ahead is clear and commanding as this Prado rides far above traffic. Dual front SRS airbags add a level of reassurance to those occupying the front seats. The dash is in good nick, lacking any major imperfections and an OEM field monitor sits atop it, so the driver can monitor the outside conditions. An automatic climate control system is located in the center stack and provides those inside the Land Cruiser with piping hot heat and A/C for the summertime. For those in warmer climates, the rear privacy tint does a wonderful job of keeping cabin temps down and shielding the interior plastics from the harmful rays of the sun. For convenient daily use the driver benefits from power-folding mirrors, a tilt steering column, and power windows and locks. In typical Toyota fashion, all of these items work! In our opinion, the upholstery steals the show! The multicolored colored cloth oozes 90's retro appeal and is mirrored in the door cards. It breaks up the gray, darker cabin and really pops. Aside from a few burn holes on the driver seat, the upholstery is in above-average shape for a vehicle of this age and lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The door cards and carpet appear to have avoided major abuse as well. For families or young adventurers on the go, the desirable third-row option is equipped on our Prado. It conveniently can be removed completely or stowed against the D-pillar when more cargo room is desired. That's not to say the cabin is perfect, as we did want to note that the headunit is no longer working. Yes, it's a bit of nitpicking and a simple fix. Again, at 25 years of age, it is clear that this Toyota was taken care of in a prior life.

The new for 1996 Prado's were a vast improvement from the 70 series it replaced. The redesign added greatly to the vehicle's safety, refinement, and performance. To power this new model, Toyota intercooled the 1KZ-TE. This four-banger is fresh off an oil and filter service and breathes freely thanks to a new engine air filter. The big four cylinder benefits from a new 12v battery, too, which will last through the next few winters to come. The 3.0L is connected to a smooth-shifting automatic transmission. It makes good use of the 1KZ's broad torque curve and moves this 5,000LB SUV with ease. A full-time 4WD system was standard and a center locking differential can be accessed with the secondary lever located by the shifter. The driveline ensures that the Land Cruiser can surefootedly traverse even the worst road conditions, and get you where you need to go safely. An ABS system was made standard on these, and we have installed new pads all around to give the brakes a new lease on life. The suspension provides tons of ground clearance and can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse. The 95 is among the best driving SUVs we sell, and has fewer squeaks and rattles than its forebearer. Finally, before it left our shop we mounted and balanced five new all-terrain tires which include the rear-door mounted spare. They have quieted the ride down nicely and will deliver tens of thousands of miles of year-round grip to come. A fresh alignment ensures proper tires wear and the LC tracks down the road straight as an arrow!
