All jokes aside, this 1997 Isuzu Bighorn is a real Trooper. We say that not only because it shares a platform with our stateside models, but because it's backed by a stout turbodiesel drivetrain and ladder-frame construction that's known to take a beating! This Bighorn R is a fine example, finished in Dragon Green Pearl (860) and set off by OEM rainguards, a rear lollipop mirror, and 16" aftermarket alloys. Save for a few basic paint defects and fading clearcoat on the roof, the cosmetics are in good shape on this 5 door SUV. A mere fraction of what our stateside examples have logged, the 72k miles on the clock are verified and documented and should do a lot to retain the value of this rig. Durable, spacious, and reliable day in and day out, this Bighorn is a unique Japanese Classic with a ton of potential!

The interior is everything you could want out of a classic truck. It's packed with the power equipment you need for daily use. It's also trimmed in durable materials that have resisted the rigors of normal wear and tear, and it happens to be in great shape too! The seats are clean, with no rips, stains, or miscellaneous wear to note. This same quality extends through the dash, which also houses dual SRS airbags for some peace of mind. On par with most other modern SUV's of the time, this bighorn is equipped with a full slate of power windows, locks, and even electric folding side mirrors. A touchscreen Eclipse headunit works like a charm, and an adjacent manual climate control system features cold A/C for the summer swelters. The rear bench is plenty spacious and this Bighorn would be ideal for a weekend camping trip! The headliner only shows a few nicks from daily use and the carpet has withstood the past 25 years of wear and tear like a champ. Save for some wear marks on the touch points, this midsize cockpit should do the job and do it well! We even retained the original owner's manual for a bit of added history on this lovely rig.

Spec'd with a top of the line 3.1L turbodiesel, the drivetrain is as good as gold and the frame is shared with our stateside Trooper models, making chassis repairs a cinch! Ours is also fresh off an oil and filter service, and we swapped out the 12v battery with a new one to aid ignition. Leaking lubricant is no longer a concern, as we've resealed the oil pan and transmission pan, and we also replaced the alternator belt with a new one. A new engine air filter delivers clean oxygen to the 4JG2 and it gets up to highway speeds with ease. An automatic gearbox throws power rearward, and a Torque On Demand 4WD system is primed and ready for when you take this bighorn off the beaten path. We refreshed the Borg Warner manufactured 4WD with new fluid in the transfer case and front and rear differentials, and it engages like a dream! New shocks on the rear keep the suspension compliant, and it gobbles up road imperfections with ease. The steering is light and on point, and the ABS brakes stop with confidence. The silver alloys are a great complement to the off-road aesthetic, and the tires are knee deep in tread and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
