The Accord has soldiered on for almost half a century now. The model has endured with industry-leading quality, reliability, and performance. This handsome 1997 Nighthawk Black Pearl (B92P) wagon is fun to drive, easy to service, and safe. The new paint is in good shape aside from some light blemishes and dings from normal use. Fresh off a recent service, this five-seater is turn-key ready to rock and boasts a mere 81k verified and document miles on the clock. Equipped with a punchy H22A VTEC big block under the bonnet, this Japanese Classic would be perfect as a daily driver, fun weekend cruiser, or spicy kid hauler for the discerning enthusiast with offspring.
The cabin is in above-average shape, and includes plenty of power options and several safety features. The dashboard is low-slung, allowing for the driver a clear view of the road ahead. Dual SRS airbags add some peace of mind and the driver can find the ideal seating position thanks to a power driver's seat and adjustable steering column. To make daily use even more enjoyable, power-folding mirrors, electric door locks, and power windows function in typical Honda fashion. For those living in climate zones with four seasons, the automatic digital climate control can mix between cold A/C and piping hot heat. For more natural ventilation, an optional moonroof can power back for a breeze. The gray upholstery and door cards are in above-average nick and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The carpet and headliner have also resisted major abuse over the years. Aside from some light plastic wear its hard to complain about the cabin and even the maintenance booklets, factory brochure, and owner manuals are still sitting in the glovebox and are included with the purchase of this CF2.
Known as a sporty FWD sedan this Accord is powered by one of Honda's most legendary engines. The H22A is loved for its aftermarket support and impressive low-end grunt. This VTEC spec'd mill starts up promptly care of a new 12v battery and is fresh off an oil and filter service. A new distributor was replaced while it was up on the lift, and the 2.2L starts and idles just like it should. One of our trained techs has replaced the valve cover gasket with a new unit, and we also replaced an oil cooler line that had begun to seep. The H-Series is linked to an automatic gearbox. This stout transmission puts the power to the ground solidly and acceleration is better than most would expect from such a subtle little avant. The power steering is light yet on point and the suspension sorts out road imperfections with ease. We did replace the front and rear sway bar bushings for state inspection and the brakes feel tight and tidy. The OEM alloys are wrapped in new al season tires at all four corners. They quiet down the road noise and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
