Stock #6323This 1997 Hilux Surf is a honest SUV. Powered by a trusty four-cylinder gasoline powerplant, this 4x4 is easy to service as it shares a driveline and frame with our domestic 4Runners. Its also easy on the eyes, and this Millennium Silver Metallic (K73) example is adorned with 16" Mud Bahn XR-6 wheels, an optional spare tire swingarm, OEM rainguards, privacy tint, and an aggressive factory rear spoiler. Aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs the paint is in fine shape and this SSR-X is fresh off a recent service. Offered with only 111k verified and documented miles on the clock, this RZN185 is turn key and ready to roll. Perfect for use as a daily driver, year round family hauler, or fun weekend warrior, this Japanese Classic won't break the bank and will only go up in value from here! The interior is in wonderful shape and was clearly cared for in Japan. Unlike many of these N185s, the dashboard has escaped Japan without any distortion or cracking. Dual SRS airbags are standard and mounted up front for the driver and passenger. A Pioneer radio upgrade modernizes the cabin, and works like a charm. It fills the cabin with tunes and comes with a bespoke remote. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and adjustable lumbar support. To make daily use more enjoyable, power windows, locks, power mirrors, and keyless entry all work in typical Toyota fashion. The automatic digital climate control system is easy to use, and blows piping hot heat and cold A/C through the cabin. If you prefer more natural ventilation the rear glass powers down into the hatch. The gray seats are in good nick and lack any major rips, stains or tears. The same can be said for the door cards, carpet and headliner which have withstood the past 25 years without sustaining major abuse. Even the carpet mats, owners manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase of this lovely Surf. This body on frame brute is a tough cookie and so is the four-pot that powers it. The 3RZ-FE is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns over quickly care of a new 12v battery. So that the new owner doesn't need to worry about constantly topping off the oil level, one of our trained techs replaced the valve cover gasket and resealed the oil pump. One of our trained techs performed a coolant flush as well. To ensure proper fuel combustion, a new set of spark plugs and wires were installed and we replaced the distributor and engine air filter. The 2.7L pulls hard to redline and power is fed through a stout automatic gearbox. It makes good use of the 3RZ's powerband and accelerates nicely and is peppy about town. To maximize fuel economy, the Surf can send power to the rear axle alone, but when additional grip is needed, the driver can switch over to 4WD on the fly from inside the cabin. The optional center locker allows power to be fixed 50/50 front and rear and a low range 4WD setting is available for the nastiest road conditions. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse and the ABS brakes feel capable and confidently slow this sled down. The power steering is light yet on point and traction comes from brand new 31" Falken all terrains mounted and balanced at each corner.*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
