It's tough to top a rig like this 1996 Hilux Surf. Optioned with a rare and desirable Recaro interior, this 4x4 is not only stylish, but capable and reliable as well. Finished in a lovely Evergreen Pearl (751) this SSR-G is set off by OEM rainguards, an aggressive rear spoiler, privacy tint, and polished Berg S4 alloy wheels. Aside from a few light dings, chips and scuffs the paint is in good shape and this V6 powered Toyota is fresh off a recent service. Offered with a scant 64k verified and documented miles, this Toyota is barely past its break in period. Easy to service, and known to be nearly bulletproof, this 4x4 would make for a cool crawler, dependable daily, or bad boy beach cruiser. Low mileage, clean Japanese Classic SUVs are a safe bet, and this turn key ute with all the options can take you wherever you need to go!
 
The cabin is in above average shape overall and was clearly cared for overseas. It's more spacious than the generation before it and features dual front SRS airbags for some added peace of mind. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and adjacent to the map lights is a factory field monitor which displays info about the conditions should you lose cell service. The center stack includes controls for the functional automatic climate system, which doles out heat and cold A/C when called upon. Directly below is the OEM TV/Radio. Although the display is a bit dim, it functions otherwise and funnels audio through the cabin. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column, an optional leather wrapped wheel, and functional power windows, locks, and power folding mirrors which all work properly and make daily use more enjoyable. There is even an electric mirror that pops down from the spoiler to give the driver a view of whats behind when backing up! The upholstery lacks any major rips, stains or tears and the middle row conveniently folds forward into a flat loading floor. The bespoke door cards are in good nick as is the headliner, and aside from a few light carpet stains and an old navi mount stuck to the dash the cabin is hard to nitpick overall. It even has the owners manuals and maintenance booklets on hand for the American owner to enjoy. 

The mechanicals are shared with our stateside V6 models. This makes servicing and maintenance a snap. The 3.4L is fresh off an oil and filter service and turns over with the twist of the key and is fresh off an oil and filter service. A new fuel filter assists the six cylinder to strain out unwanted fuel contaminants and the V6 pulls hard as a horse to redline thanks to new spark plugs and wires. One of our trained techs refreshed the powerplant with new valve cover gaskets, cam plugs, and half moon seals. The 5VZ-FE is linked to a stout automatic gearbox. It shifts properly and can feed power to the rear axle or both depending on the driver's preference. It accelerates nicely and when traction is an issue, 4WD can be engaged on the fly. For overlanding, beach trips, or loose surfaces, an optional center locker can be engaged to fix the torque split 50/50 front and rear. The ABS brakes do a wonderful job reeling in this midsize ute and the suspension is confident and can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse. The multipiece wheels are wrapped in brand new Falken tires. The new rubber looks mean, quells road noise, and is freshly aligned, which means it will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. Turn key and ready to rock, this super Surf is a safe bet and will be your perfect year round steed.
