It was an ideal time to be a prospective Honda buyer in 1997. New car showrooms were flooded with affordable, ergonomic, and durable sedans like this Civic Ferio. Finished in Vogue Silver Metallic (NH-583M) the paint is in good shape aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal wear and tear. Honda purists will surely appreciate this Ferio's lack of exterior modification, making this example a true Japanese Classic time capsule. Unique and practical, this recently serviced five-speed fuel sipper is offered with an astounding 19k verified and documented miles. With a spacious and nicely equipped cabin, we could see this being a wonderful daily driver, highway commuter, or weekend grocery getter. Designed during Honda's golden era, this special sedan boasts a low cost of ownership, rock-solid reliability, and top-tier ergonomics!

The cabin is in above-average condition and was cared for in a prior life. The view of the road ahead is clear and unobstructed and both driver and passenger benefit from dual SRS front airbags for some added peace of mind. To get comfortable behind the wheel an adjustable column is standard. The dash itself is in good nick and lacks any cracking or fading. The center stack includes functional OEM audio to ease the commute, although the factory LCD screen has gone a bit dim, and the factory climate control can dial in heat and cold A/C when desired. Power windows, door locks, and electric mirrors make daily use more enjoyable and all function at the push of a button. The grayish-blue upholstery lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. It is mirrored in the door cards and they have been cared for as well. The carpets are in fine shape as is the headliner, minus a few expected age related spots of discoloration, and we even have the OEM carpet mats to protect your precious factory upholstery from unwanted spills and stains. The factory spare is even present to boot!

Under the skin, this Civic is similar to our US versions. Powered by the trustworthy D15B, this Ferio is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up with the twist of the key. A new 12v battery was installed here stateside and we also replaced the valve cover gasket to keep the 1.5L topped up on lubricant. The small displacement mill idles with confidence and benefits from a new fuel filter to maintain proper combustion. The zingy four-banger is linked to a close-ratio five-speed manual gearbox. It's rewarding to row up and down the gears and the manual maximizes the Civics powerband. It gets up to highway speeds just fine and is plenty peppy around the city. As a FWD vehicle, it can handle some light snow as the weight of the engine resides over the drive wheels. The steering is light and on point and the brakes are more than capable of slowing down this lightweight sedan when called upon. The suspension has received a light refresh since it arrived stateside. One of our trained techs has installed new trailing arm bushings, and now the Honda is ready to attack our US tarmac. The Goodyear tires are in great shape, knee deep in tread and should deliver plenty of necessary grip throughout all four seasons.
