As time goes on, it's nice to see the R33 Nissan Skyline earn its flowers. What was once considered an awkward middle sibling to the Godzilla R32 and legendary R34 Skylines, the R33 has really earned its place in the hearts of the import car community, and for good reason. With a powerhouse RB25DET under the bonnet and a comfortable and accommodating interior, examples like this 1993 Skyline GTS-t are excellent candidates for daily driving or performance driven weekend commutes. Finished in Gun Grey Metallic (KH2), the exterior of this 33 shows well, with an optional OEM aero front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper caps and a low rise rear wing providing a slightly more aggressive touch to the smooth factory bodylines. Aside from some age-related stone chips and dings, there's not much to complain about, and with a complimentary set of Advan SA3R alloys on all four corners, this Skyline serves up period-correct looks, as well. With 111k verified/documented miles on the clock, this rig is recently serviced in house and a turn key example ready for the road ahead. Comfortable, stylish, and sporty, this R33 coupe is a Japanese Classic through and through.
The interior of the 33 saw a significant upgrade in materials quality over its predecessor, and features plenty of beneficial power equipment to make the daily driving experience a breeze. The stock seats are upholstered in a plush grey cloth, which shows no discernible defects aside from some light staining and minor bolster wear on the driver's seat. The dash is in good nick and shows no major cracking, peeling, or UV damage. The lower dash trim has fallen victim to the typical disintegration of the factory rubberized coating, but for a 25 year old panel there's not much to complain about as the OEM audio and digital automatic climate control are both fully functional, with the latter delivering cold A/C and hot heat for those winter chills ahead. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column, and a sleek Sparco tri-spoke steering wheel provides for a sportier driving experience as you pilot this Skyline through backroad twists and turns. Power windows, power mirrors, and power locks are on the ready and work at the push of a button, and a rare power moonroof even unfurls to allow for some natural ventilation to circulate throughout the cabin, although only the tilt function is operable. The rear bench can pack in three additional passengers without issue, and the trunk serves up plenty of additional cargo space, to boot. Overall, it's difficult to complain about the condition of this classic, and aside from an inoperable fuel gauge and missing trunk trim the interior should definitely serve its next owner nicely. We've even retained the factory owner's manual and maintenance booklets as well!
Pop the bonnet and Nissan's powerhouse RB25DET shines in all its glory. These 2.5L turbocharged I-6's are fantastic units, and this one has just undergone a full service by our trained technicians! The motor quickly springs to life, care of a new 12v battery, and purrs like a kitten at idle. Keeping the engine running right is a freshly installed timing belt and water pump, and a new air filter keeps her breathing healthily. Power is instantaneous, and the turbocharger spools quickly, allowing this Skyline to take off like a rocket. Shifts through the 5-speed manual transmission are smooth, with no grinds or pop-outs to be found, and you'll be cruising comfortably at highway speeds in no time. A new fuel filter ensures you won't face any old-car related fueling issues anytime soon! Aftermarket coilovers deliver more precise handling and a stiffer ride overall, but the suspension is still nicely spec'd for day-to-day use, gliding over road imperfections large and small with ease. With rear wheel drive on the ready, this Skyline packs some serious potential for backroad fun, but with such a versatile platform daily duty is certainly a viable option. No matter what you choose to do with this marvelous Nissan, it's up to the challenge, and we've even installed new Falken rubber on all four corners to deliver plenty of grip for tens of thousands of miles to come!
