While Lexus dealerships didn't appear in Japan until 2005, the brand's upscale product was sold under the Toyota moniker for many years. This 1996 Windom is the Japanese equivalent of our ES300, and would make for a reliable, refined, and efficient daily driver for a discerning client. Finished in a lovely Oyster Metallic (4M7) and set off my an OEM power parking pole, the paint is in good shape aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Fresh off a recent service, this V6-powered saloon is offered with an incredible 28k verified and documented miles on the clock. Affordable, luxurious, and safe this spacious sedan is a great value, and a special, low-mileage Japanese Classic.

The cabin is clean, spacious, and includes a number of electric amenities to enjoy. Dual SRS airbags are standard and the dashboard lacks any cracking or fading. The center stack includes automatic digital climate controls which allow for heat and A/C to be mixed through the cabin. If you prefer natural ventilation, roll down the electric windows and relax with the wind in your hair. The driver benefits also from power-folding and heated side mirrors, electric locks, and a tilt-adjustable column to find the ideal driving position. The seats are comfortable and trimmed in a soft tan cloth.  They lack any major rips, stains, or tears and are protected by some lovely JDM lace seat covers. The headliner, door cards, and carpets have withstood the past twenty-five years without sustaining major abuse. The aftermarket touchscreen audio works like a charm and makes your everyday commute more enjoyable. Even the owner's manuals, maintenance booklets, and OEM carpet mats are on hand and it's clear the Japanese owner really cared for this special four-door.

The front-engine, front-wheel drive layout is efficient and the tidy packaging allows for a decent-sized cabin. Pop the bonnet up with its new hood struts, and the 2MZ-FE is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns to life quickly care of a new 12v battery. The 2.5L idles with little vibration and is linked to a smooth-shifting automatic gearbox. The Windom accelerates well for car of this era, and making your way up to safe highway merging speeds is a stress-free affair. The suspension is soft and insulates nicely against uneven pavement. New lower trailing arm bushings were replaced for state inspection and the platform would make for an ideal daily driver in our opinion. The ABS brakes stoop this sedan down confidently and the power steering is light and on point. The wheels are wrapped in all-season tires that are knee-deep in tread so that if you have to weather a rainstorm or two during your drive, all-weather traction won't be an issue.
