The Toyota Hilux Pickup has a wonderful storied history. Over the past 55 years, this model has been used as a utility vehicle, workhorse, and carries the prized title of the worlds most indestructible truck according to Mr. Clarkson. Our 1996 turbodiesel is a special truck, and sports a fresh coat of Nori Green (6X4). This quad cab is set off by a set of low offset refinished gunmetal 15" alloys, clear corner lights, and brand new spray in bedliner. Aside from a few light imperfections, this stunner is in good shape and is fresh off a recent service. Boasting a mere 101k verified and documented miles this LN112 is turn key and ready to rock. Primed for a revolution, daily driving, or a weekend trip to the dump, this rare Japanese Classic is the real deal.

The cabin is naturally more spacious than our American pickups with the addition of two full-size rear doors. The interior feels even larger thanks to the desirable and rare sunroof option, which lets in tons of natural sunlight. A/C keeps everyone cold during summer and the power windows and tilt sunroof add a natural breeze to the cockpit. The headliner is in good shape as are the door cards and the matching upholstery lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. Power mirrors and locks make daily use more enjoyable and there is plenty of headroom and legroom for five adults. Tunes can be supplied through a Pioneer radio upgrade. Aside from succumbing to the typical dashboard cracks, this truck is in above-average shape and was cared for in a prior life in Japan.  It even has the spare key and it was obviously cared for by the owner in Japan.

Under the skin, this body-on-frame brute is a beast. Tough, sturdy, and simple these rigs were built to stand the test of time. Powered by the 2L-TE, this truck is fresh off an oil and filter service and turns over with the twist of the key thanks to two new 12v batteries. A new fuel filter was installed to keep the 2.4L running seamlessly. To keep the 2.4L properly lubricated, we installed a new valve cover gasket, and a new front main seal. The turbo diesel is linked to an automatic gearbox and selective transfer case. We addressed a transmission pan leak and the powertrain is now right as rain. For the best fuel economy and acceleration, 2WD is the ticket but when sand, mud, and snow come your way, the Hilux is prepared. 4WD can be engaged on the fly and for the stickiest of situations, a low range gearset can be utilized. The Toyota is peppy about town and comfortable cruising on the highway as well. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use without an issue and there is plenty of ground clearance afforded to whoever is behind the wheel. Its also more composed than most, with few to any squeaks and rattles. The power steering is light yet on point and benefits from a new steering stabilizer, new inner and outer tie rods, and new front sway bar end links. It goes right where you point it thanks to a fresh alignment. The brakes are confident and the grip is handled by four new Falken tires mounted and balanced at each corner.
