As the saying goes, the devil is in the details. The tireless and meticulous engineering behind Japanese luxury sedans of this era resulted in some of the most timeless and everlasting designs ever built. Offered with a mere 30k verified and documented miles, this Y33 Cedric is smooth, reliable, spacious, and unique. Finished in handsome Cloud White (QN0) this stately Nissan four-door is in good shape, aside from some minor dings, chips, and scratches associated with normal use. Packed with power amenities, this five-seat saloon is fresh off a recent service and ready to roll. For the JDM enthusiast who wants an affordable, well-equipped luxury sedan that won't break the bank and touts a low cost of ownership, this is surely the one. Federally legal and turn-key ready, this stately 1996 Cedric is a certified Japanese Classic.

The cabin is in above average shape for a vehicle of this age and was obviously cared for in a prior life. The old owner even left the OEM cloth seat covers installed, and factory books in the glovebox. The view of the road ahead is clear and unobstructed, and the dash lacks any cracking or distortion. Dual SRS airbags were standard for the first time ever on a Cedric, and add a level of reassurance for those who are safety conscious. For optimal comfort, a power driver's seat and adjustable steering column work like a charm. The electric mirrors, locks, and windows work as well, other than the power-folding function, making daily use much more manageable. An automatic digital climate control system blows cold air conditioning through the cabin, and pipes out heat for the winter ahead. Below, the OEM audio is located and it will happily supply your passengers with some tunes at their request. The headliner is clean, as are the door cards and carpets, and the gray cloth seats look near mint. Passengers even get a few cupholders to enjoy, and overall, it's really hard to complain about the state of this cockpit.

The drivetrain feels incredibly modern and this design carried on production until the end of the millennium. Powering this large cruiser is the VG30E V6. This compact and smooth 3.0L is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up with the twist of the key. Ignition is assisted by a new 12v battery which will last for a few more years to come. The gasoline mill idles with little vibration and comes with a new set of serpentine belts and an engine air filter installed by one of our trained technicians. The engine is mated to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox. The transmission makes good use of the power, and acceleration is adequate, linear and for safe highway merging and city use. This rear-drive sedan feels solid at speed, and the OEM suspension sorts out large and small road imperfections without breaking a sweat, and the chassis feels composed and sturdy. New tension arms were installed in our shop to shore up the ride even more, and an OEM front strut tower brace stiffens the front structure up a bit. The long-wheelbase does wonders for high-speed stability and these Y33 are ideal for long interstate road trips. The brakes stop the Cedric effortlessly, largely in part to new front pads and rotors which we threw on while it was up in the air. Five-spoke silver OEM alloys are all wrapped in grippy new Falken rubber to complete this Gran Turismo's reconditioning. The fresh all-season tires reduce the road noise audible through the cabin, reduce vibration, and will deliver plenty of year-round grip for tens of thousands of miles to come.
