The Land Cruiser's storied lineage continues on to this day. These rigs are determined, reliable, capable, and cool. This 1996 is finished in a Desert Dune over Dark Gray (K03) two-tone and is set off by an imposing OEM front bashguard, factory front rain guards and a set of color-matched OEM alloy wheels. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use, this TX is no worse for the wear and fresh off a recent service. At only 118k verified and documented miles, this full-time 4WD turbodiesel SUV is turn-key ready to rock. Packing loads of room and an optional third row, this Toyota is ideal for families on the go, adventurous types, and automotive enthusiasts alike. Collectible, tough, refined, and unique, this Japanese Classic is the real deal!
The cabin is spacious, comfortable, and offers plenty of electric amenities and safety upgrades. The view of the road ahead is open and unencumbered as this tall ute sits far above traffic. The dashboard lacks any major cracks or distortion and houses standard dual front SRS airbags. The automatic digital climate control unit features simple-to-use controls and pipes hot heat and cold A/C through the cabin at a moment's notice. If you prefer more natural ventilation, a functional power sunroof and power windows can be unfurled to let in a light breeze. There is a Panasonic headunit upgrade on hand that seems to be working intermittently so we would suggest a US replacement. The pilot benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column to find the ideal driving position. An OEM field monitor displays the outside condition to the driver and passenger. Power locks and electric folding side mirrors make daily driving even more enjoyable. The highlight of the cabin has to be the patterned grey cloth upholstery. The material in the seats is free of any major rips, stains, or tears and is soft to the touch. The pattern is mirrored in the door cards, which also show well. The headliner and carpets are in fair shape and aside from some light wear on some of the plastic surfaces, it appears this thing was cared for in a prior life.
This platform is shared with the 4Runner and Hilux Surf so parts and repairs are easy as pie on this model. To shore up the four-banger, one of our trained techs addressed a few pesky oil leaks. The valve cover gasket and front main seal are all new, and the new owner can rest assured knowing the 1KZ will stay topped up on lubricant. The engine idles with confidence and revs seamlessly through the powerband. It is connected to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox that is easy to live with. The full-time 4WD system includes a few features ideal for the off-road crowd. Not only is low gearing available but an OEM center locking differential is on hand if need be. The transfercase operates seamlessly and benefits from a new rear output shaft seal. The suspension is soft and cushions incredibly well against road imperfections and potholes. The power steering is light yet direct and a new right front inner and outer tie rod ensure this truck goes right where you point it. The standard ABS brakes slow this truck down impressively and grip comes from four new all-terrain Falkens mounted at all four corners.
