To most 'Yota enthusiasts, this is the holy grail of Hilux Surfs. Optioned with the legendary 3.0L turbodiesel, a manual gearbox, and a center locker, this Nori Green (6X4) SSR-G model is everything you could ever want in an SUV. Aside from a few minor dings and paint blemishes this five-seater is in good overall shape, and is fresh off a recent service. Accessorized with a roof basket, OEM spoiler, chrome tail light garnish, privacy tint, and a set of factory-refinished alloys shod in new all-terrain rubber, this hauler exudes class. Boasting only 162k verified and documented miles, this torquey Toyota is barely broken in. Perfect as a pavement queen, daily driver, or offroad playtoy the next owner will surely love this truck's versatility. Safe, reliable, rare, and highly collectible, this is a Japanese Classic for the ages!

The cabin has a simple design, and is spacious and uncluttered. The view of the road ahead is unobstructed and the dashboard lacks any cracking or fading. The driver can find their ideal position behind the wheel thanks to the adjustable lumbar support and a tilt-adjustable steering column. Dual SRS airbags are standard for the safety conscious. Mounted atop the windshield is a trick OEM field monitor that displays the direction of travel, barometric pressure, and outside temperature. The center stack includes a simple-to-use climate control system. If you prefer more natural ventilation, power windows, and electric rear glass unfurl at a moment's notice. Cold A/C and piping hot heat are available on demand and tunes are supplied by an expensive Pioneer touchscreen head unit. Other power amenities include power folding side mirrors and power locks which work in typical Toyota fashions. Even a power mirror retracts from the rear spoiler so you can more easily see behind you while reversing this Surf. The gray upholstery is in good shape and lacks any major rips or tears but we did want to note some light stains. The door cards, carpets, and headliner have resisted major damage over the years as well. That's not to say the cabin is perfect as there is some light wear on the plastic surfaces and a dent in the center console lid. Still, at 25 years old it's remarkable how well this Hilux has held up. It even has OEM mats included to protect against future spills and stains!

This body-on-frame platform is robust and can hold up with loads of use and abuse. Even better, there's plenty of room to work around the engine and suspension and the simplicity of the N185 platform and wide parts availability make these rigs stress-free to own. The 1KZ-TE under the bonnet is fresh off an oil and filter service. The 2992cc mill cranks over with the twist of the key care of two new 12v batteries and includes a new set of accessory belts to keep the electronics properly powered. The old cracked intake tube was replaced with a new one, and a new engine air filter was installed to allow the four-banger to breathe freely. While it was in the air, one of our trained techs replaced the valve cover gasket so that the 1K stays topped up on lubricant. Mated to a five-speed manual, the driver has more control over the platform than the normal automatic slushbox. For the best acceleration and fuel economy 2WD can be selected, but when the going gets tough, 4WD can be engaged with the press of a button. If some trails or a beach trip are in order, low 4WD and a center locker can keep momentum trudging forward. The suspension is predictable and can handle large and small potholes alike without breaking a sweat. The standard ABS brakes add some reassurance for those behind the wheel and stop this midsize truck down impressively. New 31" Falkens are wrapped around the refined OEM alloys. The new rubber not only looks mean but will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
