Exterior Overview
The J95 Land Cruiser is a hidden gem! It uses 4Runner maintenance and repair parts, but it’s larger, more refined, and seats eight. This TZ model is a clean example of one of Toyota’s best 4WD chassis, and is offered with a meager 82k verified and documented miles on the clock. Fresh off a recent service, this Dark Green Pearl (751) example is turn key and ready to rock. Aesthetically, the monochromatic paint job and stylish roof rack add a lot of appeal, and OEM rainguards and refinished factory alloys round off the cosmetics. Safe, spacious, capable, and reliable, this Japanese Classic would make for a durable daily driver or wicked weekend overlander. Affordable, unique, and practical, this pretty Prado is a smart investment, and a good choice for a Japanese Classic, whether you’re a first-time buyer or a seasoned enthusiast!
Interior Overview
The top of the line TZ model is well-equipped, and this one comes with a few handy upgrades. This one includes an optional moonroof which lets plenty of light and a natural breeze into the the cabin. The pilot benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and adjustable lumbar support to find the ideal seating position. Power folding mirrors, power locks and power windows all work in typical Toyota fashion, making daily use more enjoyable. The OEM audio is functional and fills the interior with tunes. The automatic climate system below is simple to operate and can cool the cockpit in summer and heat it adequately during the depths of winter. The seats are upholstered in a soft gray cloth. The material lacks any major rips, stains, or tears and is mirrored in the door cards, which are in good nick. The middle row can split-fold and tumble forward, creating a flat loading floor for cargo. The third row can fold, too, and can be conveniently stowed against the D pillars. The dashboard is in good shape, as are the headliner and carpets, and even dual SRS airbags are standard equipment. Even the owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase of this fine SUV.
Mechanical Overview
The body on frame underpinnings are strong and sturdy, and the same can be said for the 5VZ-FE powerplant. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 3.4L cranks over with the twist of the key, courtesy of a new 12v battery. A new set of spark plugs works to help properly combust fuel and a new muffler keeps the V6 sounding great. The 3.4L is linked to a stout automatic gearbox that shifts as it should. A Full-Time 4WD transfercase helps torque get to the ground, and a low range and center locking differential can be engaged when motoring down the path less traveled. The Prado has enough pickup to safely merge up to highway speeds, and it can slow down with confidence thanks to large disc brakes and standard ABS. The long wheelbase helps distribute road imperfections, and new front lower control arms and new front swaybar links were added before this rig aced its state inspection. Lastly we wrapped the factory wheels in all new Falken all-terrain rubber. The new tires quell road noise, look mean and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come, thanks to a fresh alignment. The power steering is light and easy to articulate, and this tough truck tracks straight as an arrow.!
