For us Americans, the wait is now over for the long-anticipated JZX100 chassis to be eligible for legal import. In stock form, this sedan is unassuming, and to be frank, a tad boring. However, don't let that fool you, it's one of the best driving chassis' in its class and there's a good reason why it's so popular among enthusiasts. This 1996 Toyota Mark II Tourer V features both aesthetic and mechanical upgrades and boasts a mere 107k verified and documented miles. Finished in Toyota's White Pearl Tricoat (057) it's one of the best colors available for the model and looks excellent with the aftermarket FRP aero, including the front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper. Additionally, OEM HID headlights are on hand, along with a set of optional OEM rainguards. The body is in great shape too aside from a few minor dings and scuffs from normal use and notable repairs in Japan include a new hood and core support. A set of 18" Work Emotion wheels round out the exterior modifications and add to the sporty aesthetic of this certified Japanese classic! For those who want the lasted and greatest JDM sports sedan on the market, this tidy Toyota is about as good as they get!

The cabin features many improvements over the previous generation. Touches like the carbon trim were unique to the Tourer V model and fit the vehicle's personality. The seats are trimmed in a comfortable grey cloth that has held up well over the years and shows only minor wear on the bolsters. The seats are comfortable on long trips and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The door panels are in equally good condition with only light wear to the window switch on the driver side and free of any cuts or tears. The matching fabric inserts look great as well! The dash has no major UV damage, distortion, or cracks and houses a passenger-side SRS airbag. The steering wheel has been upgraded to an aftermarket MoMo unit and it feels great while driving. The digital automatic climate control works great and provides hot heat and cold A/C when desired. The double din headunit has been upgraded but unfortunately is not functional and will need to be replaced with a US compliant one. The power windows, locks, and mirrors all function properly including the power-folding feature which is great for tight parking. In the trunk, you'll even find a full-size spare which is great in a pinch!

The powerplant is part of what makes the JZX100 just so desirable. The Tourer V models were offered with a 1JZ-GTE and this one has had a R154 manual transmission installed at some point, as it originally left Toyota with an auto. The swap was done properly utilizing all OEM parts and the transmission shifts well with no notable grinds. The clutch feels great and is easy to engage with no signs of slipping. The 1JZ fires to life quickly thanks to a new 12v battery. It settles into a smooth idle and the sound emitted from the catback exhaust is heavenly. One drive and you'll understand why the previous owner never bothered to repair the radio! A front mount intercooler fills the bumper opening perfectly and allows for cooler intake air to enter the engine, creating more power. A Blitz air intake helps the engine breathe more freely and makes all the right sounds, especially when combined with the HKS BOV. A fresh oil and filter change will keep the engine happy for another 3k miles, and our trained technicians replaced the front lower ball joints to get the suspension back up to par. We also ordered new Fortune Auto coilovers as the existing coilovers are blown and need to be replaced. These have not arrived yet, but once they do we will install them, or ship them directly to you whichever you prefer! Lastly, we mounted and balanced four brand new tires which depending on your right foot should last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
