The introduction of the L400 Delica Space Gear was a new generation of the legendary van from the ground up. The exterior shed its boxy 80's styling for a more unique look with no straight lines in sight. The drivetrain was also updated along with the interior. This funky and fun 1996 example is the high-end Chamonix trim level and is offered with just 70k verified and documented miles. The exterior is finished in a Dark Blue over Silver two-tone with the factory graphics package. The paint and body are in good condition overall and show a few minor scuffs, door dings, and scratches from normal use. The paint on the hood and roof is a bit darker than the rest of the body but doesn't look out too of place and the paint on the bumpers has some minor fading from UV exposure. The OEM graphics do show some age as well, but present well. They are a fun addition along with the OEM brush guard with optional fog lights, OEM rainguards, and OEM rear wing. This 4WD do it all family hauler is ready for whatever adventure you throw its way and will do it in style!

If you thought the exterior of this van was fun, wait until you step inside the cabin! It seems Mitsubishi pulled out all the stops with the Chamonix trim and plastered it all over the carpet and the backs of the seats, just in case you forgot what you were driving. The seats are in great condition and show no major wear including holes, rips, or tears. The front captain's chairs are comfortable on long treks both on and off-road and the rear seating can be arranged in several combinations to suit your needs. The middle row captain's chairs can slide forwards and back, and also have the ability to swivel 180 degrees to face the rear. The third row folds up and out of the way too, when additional cargo space is required. All of the seats will also fold flat, creating a make-shift bed if your adventure includes an overnight stay. The flexible options make ownership conventient and ensure you'll be nice and comfortable no matter how many friends are in tow. The dash, headliner, and door panels are all in good shape without any major blemishes and the seven-seater was obviously cared for in a previous life. The carpet while funky and cool, does have some minor coffee staining between the front seats. A gauge suite including altimeter, voltmeter, and compass is mounted atop the center of the dash and adds a helping hand navigating. An aftermarket Greddy boost gauge can be found to the right of the steering wheel along with a Blitz turbo timer to ensure the engine cools down properly after use. The A/C controls are easily within reach and both the front and rear A/C function properly. Power windows and mirrors also function properly, and the driver's side even has a one-touch-up and down feature.

The drivetrain in the new L400 received some excellent improvements as well including a more sophisticated all-wheel-drive system and a more powerful engine. This (4M40) 2.8L, turbocharged and intercooled diesel, fires up immediately at the turn of the key thanks to two new 12v batteries that should last for years to come. The engine also benefits from an oil and filter change and new serpentine belts. The transfer case received a fluid flush while it was in our shop and we also replaced the front right wheel bearing. This Delica has some great upgrades as well including aluminum intercooler pipes which replace the brittle original units which can become brittle over time. A Suxon stainless catback exhaust helps the engine expel exhaust gas quickly and efficiently. Highway speeds are no issue in this L400 Delica and shifts through the automatic transmission are buttery smooth. The brakes stop the 4WD van confidently and we mounted and balanced 4 brand new tires to ensure good traction on any terrain. If you are looking for a turn-key do anything adventure van with a notoriously reliable drivetrain and unique looks to match, this is the one!
