In mid-1996 Toyota released the entirely new Land Cruiser Prado. The new generation known as the 90 series, was completely reworked top to bottom from the previous 70 series. Not only did Toyota make more room inside the cabin by making the wheelbase longer, but they also redesigned the suspension. Upgraded to an independent front design, the vehicle now rode and perform better. There were more new engine options available too, and this 1996, one-owner example, is powered by the 5VZ gasoline V6 and has just 117k verified and documented miles. The exterior is finished in a stately British Green over Grey two-tone (K12) and looks excellent. Excluding a few minor scuffs and door dings, the body and paint are in remarkably good original condition for this vintage Land Cruiser. The exterior remains stock save for a set of aftermarket alloy wheels and includes a nice set of OEM rain visors. Admittedly, we love the look of this new to us Prado, and impressively it drives even better!

Inside the cabin, you'll find a reworked and more modern interior than its 70 Series predecessor. The addition of luxury trimming such as wood grain, automatic digital climate control with rear passenger controls, and dual SRS airbags improves the feel of the new 90 series. This spacious interior includes all of the power amenities such as electric windows, mirrors, and locks. This one even includes a powered sunroof and power-folding mirrors for parking. All of these power features function properly with the exception of the driver side folding mirror function which is inoperable but does fold in manually if needed. The automatic climate control works as it should and blasts cold A/C to both front and rear passengers on command. An aftermarket Carrozzeria double din head unit replaced the factory radio and works well, aside from the navigation portion which is Japanese. The seats are trimmed in soft grey cloth and show minimal wear throughout. The driver's seat bolster has some minor wear from entering and exiting the vehicle but no rips, tears, or major staining are present on any of the seats. The carpet and headliner are both very clean and the rear cargo area is in excellent condition. Overall this is a well-cared-for interior with more modern amenities than you'd expect.

Mechanically, this Land Cruiser is powered by the aforementioned 5VZ V6, mated to a 4WD automatic transmission. The engine which was also offered in the North American market is easy to service as parts are widely available here in the USA. Our trained technicians installed a brand new12v battery to ensure you have no hiccups over the upcoming winter and also installed a new alternator to bring the charging system up to snuff. The power is surprisingly good on this Prado and getting you up to highway speeds isn't in the least bit stressful.  Shifts are smooth and gearing is perfectly suited for US highways. The brakes have no problem slowing this SUV down quickly thanks to brand new brake pads and rotors our technicians installed up front. Rounding out the list maintenance we performed is a brand new set of 5 Falken tires and a fresh oil and filter service. This super clean one-owner Prado is turn-key ready for its new owner here stateside and would make for a spacious, reliable, and unique Japanese Classic SUV.
