The JZX100 is a wonderful driving chassis regardless of the engine powering it. If you're looking to get into an affordable example, this 1996 Toyota Chaser Avante 2.5 is the perfect fit. Finished in Toyota's White Pearl Tricoat (057) the paint is in above average condition and shows well, with only minor dings and scuffs associated with normal use. With only a mere 127k verified and documented miles, the 1JZ engine is just getting broken in. The exterior remains stock and unmodified with the exception of an aftermarket set of alloy wheels. Perfectly suited for a unique daily driver, or a great platform for a killer build, this Toyota Chaser is fresh off a recent service and drives fantastic!
The interior is clean, tidy, and well kept. The two-tone grey interior is accented with a snazzy wood trim that adds a touch of class to the interior. The seats are in great condition showing only minimal bolster wear to the driver's front, and no rips, tears, or major stains are found throughout. The door panels and fabric inserts are in beautiful shape, and free of any cuts, nicks, or sagging. Only some minor wear was noted on the driver's armrest. The dash has managed well too, with no major UV damage, cracks, or distortion. Safety features include dual front SRS airbags along with dual front side SRS airbags, giving you an extra layer of protection. The digital automatic climate control works great and provides cold A/C or hot heat upon demand. The radio was also upgraded in Japan and provides decent sound quality as well. The center console lid hinges are no longer attached, so the lid will come off completely, but it's otherwise in fine shape. All of the power equipment functions properly including the windows, locks, and mirrors. The driver's seat is also powered and even includes adjustable lumbar support so you can get comfortable on long trips. Finally, a set of OEM floor mats are included as well in the trunk.
Powering this Chaser is the 1JZ-GE, and while it's lacking the turbocharger of the higher trim level model, it has no issues getting up to speed. Additionally, you'll enjoy a very reliable engine whose parts are readily available. Attached to a smooth-shifting automatic transmission this Chaser would keep you comfortable even in the worst stop-and-go traffic. The engine starts quickly with the assist of a new 12v battery and the engine also just received a fresh oil and filter service.
