Exterior Overview
A luxury 4WD hauler is ideal for those on the go, and this 1996 HiAce leaves little to be desired. Powered by a punchy turbodiesel, this efficient and capable eight-seater is fresh off a recent service, and offered with a mere 77k verified and documented miles on the clock. Those who enjoy Toyotas will be keenly aware that this van is barely broken in. Set off by a set of OEM rainguards and powdercoated OEM wheels, this Desert Dune Metallic (1A5) paint is in fine shape aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Loaded with tons of power features and factory upgrades, the plush and spacious cabin is a joy to ride in, too. Unique and practical transportation like this won’t break the bank, and is the perfect Japanese Classic shuttle to ferry the kids to soccer practice or trudge up a muddy hill to enjoy an exciting new campground!
Interior Overview
The interior layout is ergonomic and provides abundant room for those onboard. The low-slung dashboard and cabover design lend themselves to top-tier outward visibility. Unlike older versions of this van, this super custom is spec’d with dual SRS airbags. The dash lacks any cracking or fading and the center stack is close by and within arm’s reach. A Pioneer radio upgrade supplies the cabin with some tunes and the digital climate control system is located above. The heat and air conditioning operate properly and are able to be split between the front and rear seats. Natural ventilation is abundant thanks to pop-outside glass and three sunroofs that improve airflow. The seats are in above-average shape and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The front middle and rear seats can combine to form a sleeping surface and the middle row rotates 180 degrees to face backward. The rearmost row slides fore and aft, and can be completely removed for buildout purposes. The headliner and door cards are in good shape, and the carpets have withstood the past 25 years without sustaining major abuse. All in all, this clean and spacious cabin leaves little to be desired.
Mechanical Overview
Powering this rig is the reliable and frugal 1KZ-TE turbodiesel. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 1K springs to life thanks to a new 12v battery. To promote proper performance, a new air cleaner was added and we also replaced the fuel filter, as we do with every diesel we sell. To maintain proper thermal management a coolant flush was performed, which is good for another four years! The four-banger is linked to a stout automatic gearbox that feeds power to both axles through a full-time 4WD system. Gear changes occur properly and this Super Custom is peppy about town and happily blasts down the freeway without breaking a sweat. The brakes feel confident in slowing this transporter down from higher speeds. The suspension was rehabbed by one of our trained techs while this Toyota was up on the lift. New inner and outer tie rods and new upper control arms were installed prior to this HiAce Virginia state safety inspection. The power steering is light and easy to articulate and the short wheelbase pays dividends when attempting to park in the tight confines of the city. A fresh alignment ensures this van tracks straight as an arrow and works to maximize the newly installed aggressive Toyo Open Country all-terrain rubber. Turn key and ready to rock, this comfortable van proves that to go anywhere and do anything, you need not pay for an expensive, rough-riding SUV or truck!

CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K.
