This 1995 Toyota is made for those with an independent streak. If you want a rugged, durable truck you can actually take out on a dusty trail and not feel bad about this is it! Finished in a sporty (8E3) Aztec Blue Pearl, this SSR-X edition is offered with a mere 88k verified miles. Sporting a set of 16" Power Volk alloys and some subtle privacy tint, the body is in good shape other than some minor dings and scuffs. Packing a potent 1KZ-TE turbodiesel and 4WD, this tough five-seater has been recently serviced and legally imported and is turn-key ready.

The cabin is spacious and includes a few power accessories you might not expect in the truck segment. A few upgrades can be found around the cabin including a Nardi wood grain steering wheel and Carozzeria head unit with USB inputs. The view of the road ahead is commanding and clear. The dash is in good nick overall and lacks any cracking, however, there is a Japanese phone mount still attached. The tall ride height allows the driver to see above traffic and an adjustable steering column optimizes comfort. The power amenities include power windows, locks, and mirrors that all work as they should. The rear window is also powered and can unfurl for better ventilation. The speed of the retract function on the rear window was slow when the truck arrived stateside so we have replaced the motor that powers it. The automatic climate control system is simple to use and the a/c blows cold currently. We had a full rebuild done on the ECU to ensure the cabin electronics and engine control function properly and now comes with a lifetime warranty on the ECU! The gray seats match the door cards and are upholstered in a textured gray cloth. They lack any major imperfections such as rips, stains, or tears, They are comfy on long trips and the rear row can fold forward to accommodate a quick nap or extra rear cargo.

The chassis is designed for abuse and this body-on-frame Surf upholds the reputation for the model's toughness and reliability. This truck is powered by a 3.0L turbodiesel four-banger that is fresh off an oil and filter service. It cranks over quickly thanks to two new 12v batteries we have installed. These should last for the next four years and provide reliable voltage even in the dead of winter. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission that shifts properly and is geared well for sustained highway use.  The selective transfer case gives the driver the option to select 2WD for the best fuel economy and 4WD when additional grip may be needed. This example also has a low gearing setting that can be selected in the most severe weather conditions. The suspension is confident and can withstand the rigors of daily use. The power-assisted steering is easy to manipulate and the brakes do a fine job of slowing this rig down when needed. To keep this SUV on track, the shop replaced the steering arms and sent this baby off for a fresh alignment as well. We did want to note that there are some areas under this Hilux that have higher than average corrosion, but it did pass for Virginia state safety inspection. The Volks finish the look and are all wrapped in new all-terrain Falkens at all four corners. These new tires look killer and more importantly provide plenty of grip on loose surfaces. They will surely last for thousands of miles to come and we have even replaced the spare tire while we were at it!
