Behind the wheel of a Toyota Celsior, all your worries seem to melt away. Redesigned for its second-generation this 1995 example personifies all the best qualities of Lexus/Toyota quality, refinement, and luxury. Finished in a classy Diamond White Pearl (051), the body is in good shape other than some minor scuffs and fings associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 18K verified miles, this legally imported and freshly serviced UCF20 is a turn-key Japanese Classic if we have ever seen one!

When you choose quality materials from the start they will generally last much longer. It's true what they say, you do get what you pay for, and like most of the Celsior's that we retail the interior on this one has held up exceptionally well. It's obvious the old owners cared for this thing, as evidenced by the OEM plush carpet floor mats, original manuals, privacy tint, and spare key. The gray cloth seats are still incredibly soft to the touch. Both driver and passenger units are powered and even include powered seat belt adjusters. The litany of other power equipment continues with a tilting and telescoping steering column, as well as power-folding mirrors, electric windows, and power locks. The dash is in good shape, lacking any cracks or distortion. A bunch of technology is located in the center stack along with some additional storage that comes from a massive center console and glovebox. Lexus even built in a cutting edge touchscreen climate control and infotainment system. The unit can control the cabin's dual temperature zones, and it should be noted the A/C is currently ice cold. Other functions include AM/FM radio, TV, CD player, and it works as best it can here stateside. Sound quality is still crisp despite the age of the system. Two cupholders are standard upfront and a rear retractable armrest hides two additional ones. When driving this Celsior for extended periods it's obvious how little noise, vibration, and harshness enter the cabin.

The legendary underpinnings of the UCF platform set new standards for both reliability and refinement. In a segment that was dominated by German options, which had a reputation for being expensive to fix and finicky to own, the Celsior/LS400 stood apart. Powering the rear wheels by way of an automatic transmission, the 1UZ-FE was carried over from the first generation Celsior. Although lighter and more powerful than before, the styling remained the same but the mechanicals were redesigned by over 90%. The wheelbase was lengthened and the new model could now boast even more stability at higher speeds. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the V8 hardly vibrates and moves this hefty luxury barge up to highways speeds without batting an eye. The transmission shifts smooth as butter, and the steering is light and makes this sedan easy to pilot. Feeling akin to a couch on wheels, the OEM suspension handles large and small bumps with supreme confidence. The tires have plenty of tread, and the vehicle has completed its Virginia State safety inspection.
