1995 Surf 3.0 V6

Available for: $13,495

#6021

The Hilux Surf is a determined little truck, and its fun to drive as well. If that wasn't enough, this 1995 is finished in a fresh coat of one-off Raspberry Jam Metallic, and is set off by a stylish OEM rear spoiler, factory rear swing arm, and 16" refinished alloys wheels shod with meaty 31" Falken rubber. Spec'd with an awesome Recaro interior and powered by the same gasoline engine as US 4Runners, this Surf is simple to service, and inexpensive to operate. Turn key and ready to roll, this SSR-X is offered with a mere 135k verified and documented miles on the clock. Capable, cool, and collectible this Japanese Classic is a terrific midsize SUV and would be an ideal candidate for a year-round daily driven ride!

Spartan and simple, we love the cabin of the second-generation Surf. The most desirable option, bespoke Recaro upholstery, is equipped in this example. Aside from a few repairs and light imperfections, they are in good nick and steal the show. The same material is mirrored in the door cards, and that too is in good nick. The driver can find the ideal driving position thanks to an adjustable steering column, and the seats are highly bolstered keeping the pilot from sloshing about the cabin. The controls are all close by and at hand and the driver benefits from electric mirrors, power rear glass, power windows, and electric locks. A simple-to-use climate control system blows through cold A/C and piping hot heat. If you prefer more natural ventilation an OEM sunroof can be unfurled with the press of a button. That is not to say the cabin is perfect as we wanted to note that the head unit screen is inoperable, there are a few carpet stains, and some typical dash cracks are present. Considering that the cabin is almost 30 years old these are minor things. On the positive side, the headliner is in good shape and this 1995 also features functional cruise control, which is nearly impossible to find!

The body on frame platform is robust and can take plenty of abuse. It's one of the many reasons why these things have lasted as long as they have. The 3VZ-E under the hood is fresh off an oil and filter service and turns over with the twist of the key. A new 12v battery was installed here in the States and should last for a few years to come, ensuring you won't get left stranded with a low voltage. We also repaired the leaky valve covers with new ones, so your freshly changed oil stays within the engine where it belongs. We also replaced the engine air filter and fuel filter with new units, so that the V6 can maximize its fuel economy and straight-line performance. Power is fed through a stout automatic gearbox and can be fed to the rear or all four wheels. The selective transfer case has a low gear set should the terrain get rough or if a beach trip is in order. The brakes feel confident and the power steering is light and on point. The suspension has been refreshed with new shocks in the back, and there are very few squeaks and rattles compared to our run-of-the-mill N130. Lastly, we mounted and balanced four new 31" Falken tires at each of the corners, The new tires not only look mean but most importantly will last for tens of thousands of miles to come and provide all the year-round grip you'll ever need.
