Stock# 5334From South America to Europe, to the UK, Africa, and Japan the Pajero nameplate is known for its rugged determination and reliability. This 1995 is a gutty midsize truck, powered by a recently serviced 2.8L turbo diesel engine and underpinned by a robust 4WD system. Rocking a set of OEM rainguards, privacy tint, and aftermarket alloys, this Mitsu has been redone in a one-off Pepper White, which sets it apart from the crowd. Aside from some minor dings, chips and scratches the body and paint are in good shape overall. Offered with a mere 154k verified and documented miles, this stick shift, center-locked beast is likely to make any enthusiast salivate. As a trail rig, kid hauler, or daily driver it's undeniable that this special JDM SUV is a Japanese Classic! The cabin is spacious, laden with power options, and even includes a few upgrades. The view of the road ahead is clear and commanding and this tall truck allows the driver to see above traffic. Although the field monitor has been removed, the rest of the dash is in good nick and it lacks any cracking. A woodgrain Verona steering wheel steals the show, and compliments the neutral interior color palette. The seats are in above average shape for a vehicle of this age and are wonderfully supportive. The gray cloth is soft to the touch and lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The desired third-row option is equipped for those with kids or friends to transport. The rearmost row can be stowed against the d-pillar for extra cargo capacity when not in use. The carpets and door cards look good, but we did want to note the headliner has some fitment issues in the rear and some scuffs. The head unit isn't powered either but that's a simple enough fix. While the power-folding function of the side mirrors no longer works, they can be electrically adjusted. The windows and door locks are powered, making daily use enjoyable. Privacy tint keeps cabin temps down in summer as does the automatic climate control that includes cold A/C. The heat is decent too, and this is an ideal winter rig, for sure. Obviously cared for in a prior life, this clan cabin is hard to complain about overall.Mitsubishi's formula for success was pretty simple. They took a splendid 2.5L engine and bumped the displacement up to 2.8L, and paired it to a trick selective transfer case. It allowed the driver to switch between 2WD and 4WD at speeds of up to 62 MP/H, which was cutting edge at the time. The 4M40 makes a bit more power and torque than its smaller sibling, and it pays dividends, especially on the highway. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the four-banger cranks to life care of two new 12v batteries, a new fuel filter and a set of glow plugs. It idles with confidence and one of our trained techs has performed a coolant flush and installed a new set or serpentine belts to keep the accessories running tip-top. The manual gearbox makes daily use much more involved and fun. The gate is tidier than most trucks we sell and shifts occur without a hitch or grind. The Pajero is peppy and never sweats getting up to freeway merging speeds and the long-wheelbase delivers a fairly refined ride. New rear struts were installed when the Mitsubishi was up on the lift and the platform feels much more composed than when it arrived in the US. There are fewer squeaks and rattles than we're used to in vehicles of this age. It's just super composed for a truck! The wheels have all been outfitted with new 31" Falken Rubitreks. The fresh rubber looks great and will deliver tens of thousands of miles of year-round grip to come.*California Residents: In order to register a Gray Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
