Stock #6364Back in 1995 when this Surf rolled off the line, it was a different time. Trucks were simple, analog, and tough, which is a far cry from today's soft-roaders. This SSR-X is built atop a body-on-frame chassis and is powered by one of Toyota's most legendary turbodiesel engines. It is also a neck-breaker, with its fresh Octane Red (PRR) paint coat. Set off by refinished factory alloys, OEM rainguards, and a stylish OEM rear spare tire swingarm, there is little to nitpick cosmetically aside from a few light imperfections. Recently serviced and ready to wheel, this KZN130 is offered with a measly 126k verified and documented miles on the ticker. Ideal for year-round daily use, a weekend escape to the lake house, or to ferry the kids to soccer practice, this Hilux won't let you down. Easy to service and inexpensive to operate, this dependable yet rugged SUV is a superb Japanese Classic! The cabin is clean, ergonomic, and seems to we well cared for in a prior life in Japan. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and the view of the road ahead is clear and commanding. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column and adjustable lumbar support to find the ideal driving position. The front seats are supportive and the gray cloth upholstery lacks any rips, stains, or tears. The rear bench can 4-way recline for optimal rear seat comfort and it also tumbles forward to create a large cargo loading area. The center stack is close by and features a simple-to-use climate control system. Both work, making daily use enjoyable. If you prefer more natural ventilation, the rear glass powers down and the side windows can be unfurled with the press of a button. Additionally, power locks and mirrors make daily use more manageable. The carpets, headliner, and door cards are in fine shape and have resisted major abuse over the years. Overall the cabin is clear and seems to have been well cared for in a prior life overseas and aside from a nonfunctional head unit, its really hard to complain about the condition. Even the owner's manuals are included in the sale.Mechanically simple yet robust, this rig is a joy to work on. The engine is known to be nearly bulletproof and the 1KZ-TE is fresh off an oil and filter service. We installed a new fuel filter while the hood was popped and the four-banger runs well and delivers gobs of low end torque. To keep the oil level on full, one of our trained techs has replaced the old weary valve cover gasket and half moon seals. To aid thermal efficiency, a coolant flush was performed, and we also replaced the serpentine belts to keep the electronics properly powered. The 3.0L is mated to a stout automatic gearbox. It makes good use of the 1K's powerband and is linked to a selective transfercase. The driver can select between RWD or 4WD on the fly and a low range is on hand for beach cruises or the occasional trail ride. The suspension is predictable and offers tons of ground clearance. New sway bar endlinks aid handling and the power steering is light, yet on point and the pump has been freshly rebuilt. The brakes feel confident and grip is handled by four brand-new 30" Falken tires mounted and balanced at each corner. The new rubber not only looks mean, but will most importantly last for tens of thousands of miles to come. *California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
