It should come as no surprise Toyota's 70 series Land Cruiser has remained a fan favorite model over the years. After all, the model remains in production in some corners of the globe to this day. our 1994 Prado is a great example of the chassis, with narrow-body styling, striking custom vinyl, a useful tube front bumper and SOREX rear receiver giving this rig a rugged, no-holds-barred aesthetic. Set off by a 2" lift and complementary 16" 6 Spoke alloys, this one-off Phantom Black Prado boasts only 145k verified/documented miles and is fresh off a recent service by our trained technicians. Capable, stylish, and willing to put up a fight, this KZJ78 is one of the most timeless Japanese Classics we offer!
The cabin is spacious and outfitted with enough power amenities to make the most of it's rather utilitarian design. The fitted leather seat covers steal the show and add a touch of class to the cockpit, and the dash is in good shape aside from a few minor hairline cracks atop the passenger side, a common issue on these models. The center stack is logically laid out to stand the test of time, and a fully functional climate control unit is primed with frigid A/C and hot heat for when you inevitably push your way through a blizzard in this tough little truck. A woodgrain Nardi steering wheel replaces the uninspired factory unit and the driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column along with electric windows, door locks, and mirrors. These all work as advertised and make daily use more enjoyable. The door cards and carpet have resisted major abuse over the years and the headliner is taut and lacks any sagging. A Bluetooth capable Sony headunit upgrade plays clear audio throughout the cabin and provides the finishing touches on this neo-classic cabin. Privacy tint keeps the harmful rays of the sun off the soft plastics and keeps temperatures down under the summer sun, and if you can see past a loose sun visor, this cabin is far above average compared to other vehicles its vintage.
Under the hood, the durable 1KZ-TE is as good of a mate as any for this chassis and its reliability, ease of service, and performance speaks for itself. Our trained technicians have given this one a thorough once-over to ensure smooth operation for the road ahead, and after a Virginia State Safety Inspection and an extended drive cycle this one's ready to burn diesel on whatever stateside highways and byways await. We replaced all the serpentine belts with new ones, and a new fuel filter was installed to keep contaminants out of the diesel. The turbocharger delivers a sufficient grunt down low, and power is sent to both rear wheels care of a smooth shifting automatic transmission that feels confident and composed at highway speeds. If an off road excursion is in the cards, 4WD can be selected and the front hubs can be electronically locked to propel you out of any sticky situations. For a bit of added insurance, we rebuilt both front hubs. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse and new Profender shocks were installed on all four corners by one of our trained techs while it was up on the lift in addition to new rear trailing arm and endlink bushings. The brakes are confident, and the alloys are wrapped in nearly new Falkens on each corner. They look menacing and should provide tons of grip for wherever you travel in this Prado!
