The CRV is Honda's best selling model currently, and can trace its lineage back to this 1996 model. Built on a unibody platform and underpinned with AWD, this little ute is practical and inexpensive to own. This lovable RD1 is finished in a classic Zinc Silver Metallic (NH-595M) and is set off by subtle rear privacy tint, factory alloy wheels, and a chrome front brushguard. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs this Honda is in good shape and boasts a mere 111k verified and documented miles on the clock. Frugal, practical, and easy to service, its no wonder why this CR-V is a bonafide Japanese Classic. As a year-round daily driver, a unique platform to modify, or a kid-hauling runabout, this just might be the perfect vehicle!

The cabin is more spacious than you might expect from a crossover with such small exterior dimensions. Credit the designers at Honda for a thoughtful and ergonomic layout. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column and slate of electric equipment. Power mirrors, door locks, a retractable moonroof and power windows make daily use enjoyable for all. They all work like a charm too, aside from the power folding function of the side mirrors. cabin occupants can enjoy a fully automatic climate control system, which can be dialed in for cold A/C or piping hot heat. Directly below those controls are the inputs for the functional OEM audio and Gathers mini-disk player. The sound quality is surprisingly good for a vehicle of this age. The seats are in good nick too, lacking any major rips, stains or tears. The same can be said for the door cards and headliner which look decent. Aside from some light carpet staining its really hard to critique this little runabout and as a whole, the condition is impressive.

Under the skin, this unibody Honda shares most mechanicals with its US siblings. That makes for simple maintenance and repair and prospective owners will love the fact that this one has been sorted through already. The B20 under the hood is fresh off an oil and filter service and whirrs to life care of a new 12v battery. To maintain top-tier MPG and performance a new engine air filter and new fuel filter were installed. To ensure it stays topped up on lubricant, the oil pan was resealed and the valve cover was replaced. The VTEC equipped 2.0L is linked to a smooth shifting automatic. Peppy about town and comfortable cruising on the highway, the DOHC powerplant makes all the power necessary to get this moving. The power steering is light and easy to articulate and the brakes are more than capable of slowing this lightweight CUV down in a hurry. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse and new trailing arm bushings were replaced for state inspection. The tires were also swapped for new units that not only quiet down the road noise but provide grip for tens of thousands of miles to come!
