Screw a G-Wagen, the Land Cruiser 70 series provides so much more value for the money. It looks just as good, too, with its boxy styling and angular body lines. This 1994 is a stunner, finished in a menacing, one-off Baroque Black. Aside from a few dings, chips and scuffs the paint is in good shape and this Landy is set off by Mickey Thompson SideBiter alloys, LED tail lamps, privacy tint, and a set of OEM rainguards. Fresh off a recent service, this tough rig is offered with a mere 124k verified and documented miles on the clock. That's barely broken in for the legendary turbodiesel engine, and this killer SUV would make for a cool weekend cruiser or year-round daily driver. Reliable, collectible, and easy to service, this Toyota is a real-deal Japanese Classic,

The cabin is spacious and clean and even has a few upgrades. Headroom is plentiful as is the outward visibility from the cockpit. The alcantara seats are protected by fitted leather seat covers, which bring an upscale feel to the cabin. The rear bench is also covered in the same material and can tumble forward and lay flat to create a large cargo area. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and power-adjustable lumbar support. Heat and A/C controls are hand, and a Pioneer radio upgrade supplies tunes through the cabin. The door cards are in good shape as are the headliner and carpets. That's not to say the cabin is perfect as we wanted to note some of the typical dash cracks we see in these 70's, which are obscured by a custom cover. We also wanted to note the mirrors no longer adjust electronically. Aside from that, it's in wonderful shape and we think the new owner will agree.

Under the skin this body on frame Ute is rough and tumble. The same can be said for the 1KZ-TE under the hood, which is known to withstand loads of abuse. The 3.0L is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns to life care of two new 12v batteries. To ensure all the dinosaur juice stays internal, we have replaced the oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket while it was on the lift. The four-banger is mated to a stout automatic that feeds power to the rear wheels or all four. For minimal traction scenarios, a 4WD low setting can help move momentum forward. The driver can also lock the hubs from within the cabin. Acceleration is decent for a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick and merging onto a highway and cruising at sustained speeds is no issue at all. The longer wheelbase distributes bumps evenly, and new Ironman 4x4 shocks can be found at each corner. The power steering is light and makes this truck easy to maneuver. A new steering shock was installed in our shop to make the driving experience even better. This Landy drives straight as an arrow thanks to a fresh alignment. The brakes feel confident and new 33" Falken tires have been mounted and balanced to deliver all the grip needed for tens of thousands of miles of years round use.
