Stock #5540Most people think Mitsubishi's participation in the performance market begun and ended with the Lancer Evolution. In Japan, the brand was slinging sports sedans like this twin-turbocharged Galant VR4! This 1994 Type S is a fine unit, backed by an unstoppable AWD drivetrain, and just 54k verified and documented miles logged on the clock. Finished in Seattle Silver (A71), it looks good too, and is set off by OEM rainguards and a factory 3-piece lip kit. There are a few small dings, chips, and scratches from daily use but nothing unsightly, and the real appeal of this VR4 lies in its sheer capability on the performance circuit. Ideal as a daily driver, weekend backroad warrior, or occasional Cars and Coffee cruiser, this legendary Galant is nothing short of a true Japanese Classic!Mitsubishi was on top of their game in the 90's, packing their vehicles with top-tier equipment, power options, and ergonomics to keep all pilots and passengers happy on longer road trips. This touring sedan is no different, and the plush cloth seats have resisted the last 3 decades on the road with nary a rip, stain, or tear. In fact, the dash cover is the only thing that shows a couple of nicks here and there, but it houses dual SRS airbags for some additional peace of mind behind the wheel. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column, and a leather-wrapped Nardi to fit nicely in the palm. The center stack frames an easy-to-use digital automatic climate control unit, and an adjacent Pioneer audio system that pumps out tunes at above-average quality. All four power windows are automatic up/down, the power locks work well with keyless entry, and the power mirrors electronically fold in to maintain a slim profile when parked. The back seat has ample room for additional passengers, and the rest of the interior is in good nick, from the headliner to the matching cloth inserts in the door cards. This cabin is well-equipped, and stylish, leaving little to be desired in a classic cruiser. All it needs is someone new behind the wheel!Relatively unknown in our domestic market here, the 6A13 is one heck of a powerplant and a true dark horse, producing a stout 276hp. Fresh off a recent oil and filter service, she fires up promptly thanks to its brand new 12V battery and idling is smooth and confident. A new alternator was installed to keep your components running smoothly, and 6 new spark plugs aid ignition across the board. We also changed out the valve covers, to stop any pesky lubricant from exiting the 2.5TT. Even better one of our trained techs rebuilt the turbochargers, so this little sedan boosts hard to redline. Backed by an aftermarket airbox, charge piping, and a Fujitsubo exhaust, the V6 produces a lovely symphony of sound, and the compact 6 pot is mated to a Porsche-inspired semi-automatic gearbox for rapid and direct shifts. It selects gears properly and sends power to all four wheels. Acceleration is downright impressive, even by today's standards, and performance at highway speeds is quite comfortable. Active yaw control is on hand to help keep this sedan tight in the twisties. While behind the wheel the power-assisted steering feels precise and under hard braking, the pedal feels firm thanks to a brand-new set of front brake pads and rotors. Brand-new tires were mounted at all four corners and will provide tens of thousands of miles of grip to come. They also quiet down the road noise a touch and can be used year-round, regardless of the conditions.*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
