If you want to go out and explore, why not do it in this 1994 Delica. This 4WD hauler is capable, reliable, and turn-key ready for your next adventure. Finished in a Green over Gray two-tone, the body is accented by a rear nerf bar, laughably large parking pole, set of OEM rainguards, and a stylish OEM brushguard with integrated amber fog lamps. The paint is in fair shape and has its share of scratches, scuffs, chips, and dings associated with normal use. Offered with a mere 96k verified and documented miles, this spacious seven-seater is barely broken in and even includes a new timing belt and water pump! Featuring a massive sunroof suite, an affordable price point, and tons of power equipment this Mitsubishi is unique, practical, and a real-deal Japanese Classic.

The cabin is massive and has some cool features and flexible seating options. When the model was refreshed the interior was upgraded with more premium materials and tech items. The automatic climate control is an example of this and looks much more modern than the old manual setup. The system works well and cold A/C and heat are available on demand. The Crystal Lite Roof is another selling point, and the massive glass panels allow for tons of natural light to enter the cabin. Campers will love sleeping below the stars and four powered panels can be initialized to cover it completely with the press of a button. The view of the road ahead is clear and commanding thanks to the stubby nose and tall ride height. The dash lacks any cracking or distortion and houses a functional OEM audio setup. A factory field monitor is mounted centrally atop the dashboard and displays the direction of travel and outside temperatures. The front sunroof also tilts and retracts although when it closes it makes a bit of a rattling sound. The seats are trimmed in a gray soft textured cloth. They are in good nick and lack any major rips, stains, or tears aside from a rip on the passenger side seat bottom. The headliner looks good as do the door cards. That is not to say everything is perfect as the passenger side mirror no longer power folds (although power mirror adjustments work fine), there is some light staining on the carpets and there is a small chip on the radio bezel. On the positive side the electric windows, locks, and mirrors work and even the original owner's manuals and maintenance booklets are still in the glovebox.

The powerplant in this Space Gear is the 6G72 V6. Sold here in the US on many Mitubsishi and Dodge products, parts are readily available and can be had on the cheap. This 3.0L is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up promptly with a twist of the key. A new 12v battery is on hand and should last for a few more years to come. While the Delica was on the lift we went ahead and replaced the serpentine belts to keep the accessories happy and engine bay noise to a minimum. As noted in the opening paragraph one of our trained technicians replaced the timing belt and water pump, which is the single most expensive preventive maintenance item on the van. It adds some peace of mind for the next buyer and saves some money down the road. The gasoline powerplant is mated to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox. Acceleration is adequate for daily use and the big van gets up to highway merging speeds just fine. The selective transfercase is pretty trick, allowing the driver to select between two and four-wheel drive. For situations involving loose surfaces and rough weather, a center locker is on hand to assist with grip. A low gear setting is available if needed. The systems can be used on the fly, at speeds up to 62 mp/h and it works like a charm. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse and this Mitsubishi is stable at freeway speeds. We refreshed the platform with a set of new control arm bushings and she now has a new lease on life. The factory alloys are all wrapped in new all-terrain Falken rubber. The 29" Rubitreks look menacing but most importantly will deliver tens of thousands of miles of year-round grip to come.
