This Town Ace is splendid on the inside, and the cabin is spacious and well-appointed. The view of the road ahead is impressive and the cab-over design is great for outward visibility. The dash is in good nick and lacks any cracking or distortion. An audio upgrade was performed here stateside and the Kenwood head unit is connected to a hi-res backup camera and booming subwoofer. The system is fantastic overall, and very little road noise filters through the cabin. The seats are upholstered in a soft neutral-colored cloth that is in above-average shape. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears and you can ride in comfort in any of the three rows, the third row was not pictured but it is included with the van. The dual-powered sunroof and dual-zone A/C system work like a charm, and you can see why so many use these TownAce's for camping. Even an OEM Cool&Hot box is nestled up front to keep your libations at the desired temperature. The electric windows, locks, and mirrors work to make daily use enjoyable. We even have included the OEM carpet mats and owners manual from Japan. The headliner and door cards have been cared for too, and overall it's really hard to complain about this one!
The midship layout makes for nimble handling as far as a van goes, and this little hauler is composed and quiet even at highway speeds. The van is powered by the 3Y-EU gasoline four-cylinder. Fresh off a recent oil and filter service, she starts up promptly with a twist of the key. Torque is sent to the rear wheels through a buttery smooth automatic gearbox. While this Toyota won't be ripping burnouts, it makes all the HP you need to get up to safe merging speeds. Its operation is also nearly silent. The suspension is supple and predictable and can take large and small potholes with confidence. The brakes feel good and the factory alloys all have upsized all-season rubber that is deep in tread. The steering is power-assisted and light, and the tiny Toyota goes right where you point it!
