The phrase "they don't build them like they used to" is certainly true as it relates to the Nissan Silvia. It's just hard to find manufacturers that build fun to drive affordable sports cars in today's market. This 1995 Nissan Silvia Q's fills the void perfectly, as it's fun to drive, easy to modify, and actually affordable. Finished in one of the best colors for the Silvia, Nissan's White Pearl (WK0), the exterior is in fantastic condition, showing only minor scuffs and dings from normal use and minor trim wear. The exterior is accented with a factory optional NaVan rear wing, and a set of aftermarket alloy wheels, which set it off nicely. Further enhancing the styling is a set of Blitz coilovers, which drop the ride height down a touch and a cool period-correct FGK catback exhaust. Notable repairs in Japan include a new left front fender. This classic Silvia is fresh off a recent service, is turn-key ready, and is fun-to-drive, too. Offered with a mere 87k verified and documented miles, this example is barely broken in! For the enthusiast who wants a durable, communicative, and collectible front-engine, rear-drive chassis, this Japanese classic sports car would surely fit the bill.
The cabin has held up well over the last 26 years. Even better, all of the power equipment still works great, including the power windows, locks, and mirrors which have a folding feature for tight city parking. The digital automatic climate control also works great providing cold A/C or hot heat through a preset temperature. Below is an upgraded Kenwood headunit with AUX input and USB capability. It works properly and the sound quality from the speakers is decent. The factory seats are in great condition both front and rear and lack any rips, tears, or major stains. The steering wheel has been upgraded to a MoMo unit and compliments the aftermarket shift knob. The plastic trim around the shifter has been modified and could use a replacement which is an easy fix if needed. Additionally, the radio and HVAC trim has been wrapped in a faux carbon wrap, which isn't done perfectly but does look cool. The dash does have a crack under the dash cover which is a common issue on Silvia's. The carpets and headliner are both in fine condition with no major imperfections. The door panels are quite nice as well, with no cuts or nicks, and the fabric inserts are still attached properly. Overall, this is a clean interior for a 26-year-old car!
Powering the Q's model is the SR20DE which is surprisingly peppy! The 2.0L dual overhead cam engine starts promptly thanks to a new 12v battery we installed here at our dealership. Acceleration is brisk, and shifts performed through the 5-speed manual transmission. Rowing through the gears is enjoyable, and there no issues to note such as grinding. The clutch is light and easy to engage and we installed a new output gasket on the transmission to prevent any leaks. The Blitz coilovers ride well and provide both adjustability and improved handling over the original suspension. The FGK catback is just loud enough to provide a great exhaust note under acceleration and barely noticeable on the highway. The engine received a new engine air filter and a fresh oil and filter service to keep it running tip-top. We also flushed the rear differential and topped it off on fluid. Lastly, we installed four brand new tires to provide plenty of traction and last for years to come. This turnkey Silvia is ready for it's next chapter in life!
